Chapter 5: She was Austin's Wife

It was Austin, instantly bringing tears to Nora's eyes. She quickly stood up and hugged Austin's shoulders, "Austin, stay with me, okay?"

Nora had nothing left but pleading, begging Austin for a bit of warmth, for an embrace. She was humble in love, devoted to Austin, setting aside her pride and dignity. If one day her heart died, perhaps she would realize, but that chance was gone. She promised to spend her remaining time with Austin.

"Yeah," the man replied.

Austin couldn't simply stand by and watch Nora in such a pitiful state. He had known Nora for so long, even if there was no romantic love, there was still friendship and family affection. No matter how much he detested being bound by marriage, he couldn't stand seeing her distressed and fearful at home.

Austin carried Nora into the bedroom, let her sleep, and brought many candles to illuminate every corner of the room. Nora felt warm and calm in her heart.
