To spite Xu Mingzhu, Gu Nanyan had publicly called Lu Beicheng "husband" twice.
Yet in private, she never called him that intimately. She hesitated for quite a while just now but still couldn't bring herself to say it, too embarrassed.
Despite Gu Nanyan's usually carefree demeanor and her knack for sweet-talking,
there were times when she felt shy.
In that moment, Gu Nanyan almost cried, "Lu Beicheng, do you have a grudge against me?"
With the aggrieved look in Nanyan's eyes, Beicheng hugged her tightly, his voice strained, "Baby, can you call me that, please?"
Nanyan's breath hitched, "I'll call, I'll call."
She said she'd call, but after hesitating a long while, she still couldn't say it, until Lu Beicheng subtly threatened her again. That's when Gu Nanyan quickly blurted out, "Husband."
A shiver ran through Lu Beicheng, "Wife, what did you say? I didn't hear it."
"Husband," Gu Nanyan said, her voice louder than before.
"Hm? What?"
