EMBER'S POV

I was glad when she didn't follow me, and bumped into one of my co-workers who looked at me with a weak smile,

“That one is a bit loony, isn’t she?” I didn’t bother pretending I didn’t know who she spoke of and simply shrugged,

“I’m used to her kind. What I don’t understand is what someone like that would be doing here?”

“I suppose she’s our new co-worker. But if you ask me, I truly doubt that she’ll be here for long.”

“Not with that attitude.” I said. And especially not if I had anything to do about it. Because the very thought of working in the same company was a very hard one.

“You aren’t even the only person she’s treated that way. And it’s just her first morning. Acting like that, you’d think she’s the new president or something.”

“I can imagine.” I said dryly.

“But I suppose even her attitude with you just now was beyond expectation.”

“What would you do if I told you that she was actually holding back?”
