"Don't misunderstand, I'm not forcing you to marry me," Lin Yan explained, yet she felt a bit hypocritical.
She really just wanted to tell Lu Chenyuan in advance that she was now eligible to marry.
"Let's eat," Lu Chenyuan didn't respond to her comment.
His reaction was like a sharp knife, piercing Lin Yan's chest. She wondered what Lu Chenyuan was worried about, or if he simply didn't like her at all.
Lin Yan pressed her lips together, quickly forcing a smile, "Next year, for my birthday, you have to give me a present, but this year, let it be." She asked, insecure again, "Next year, you'll still be here, right?"
Lu Chenyuan affectionately stroked her head, "Where could I be if not here? Of course, I'll be here."
Lin Yan rested her chin in her hand and gazed into Lu Chenyuan's clear eyes.
"I've never celebrated a birthday before; this is the first time."
Lu Chenyuan's phone on the table rang, Lin Yan glanced at the display to see an unlisted number flashing.
