Chapter 8 I am Su Fanxing, Not Su Xinuo

"Have you eaten well? Why did you suddenly come out? Is it because you missed me after not seeing me for a while?"

Looking at the man before her, Su Fanxing smiled.

But the smile didn't reach her eyes, obviously feigning politeness.

And about this, she knew, Lin Tianyu knew as well.

"Why aren't you talking? Mr. Lin, are you naturally unable to smile?"

After all, she now had a plan she wanted to entrust to Lin Tianyu. No matter how much she disdained him, she couldn't ignore him. But even as she talked her head off, he remained silent.

Watching Lin Tianyu's increasingly cold gaze, and recalling the angle from which he had just approached, Su Fanxing's heart skipped a beat, belatedly realizing something.

She could clearly distinguish that his current indifference was different from before.

Before, he completely ignored her, but this time his gaze was fixed on her alone, carrying an inquisitive intent.

Obviously, he had seen her conversation with Ji Huan just now.

To think about it, the Lin family really didn't mesh well with her—it had only been a few days, and she had already made so many slip-ups.

Meeting the man's gaze, Su Fanxing hesitated for a moment before ultimately letting out a sigh.

If their paths had crossed, then it was time to break the pot.

Could it be considered a voluntary confession if she spilled the beans before he had the chance to speak?

To say she cared much about what Lin Tianyu thought of her or the deception, honestly, Su Fanxing didn't care one bit.

Rather than being investigated by him later and having to go to great lengths to explain, it was better to lay everything out in the open.

After all, carrying such a big secret wasn't an easy task.

After some thought, Su Fanxing leaned slightly forward, checked the situation inside the villa, and then, without regard to whether Lin Tianyu agreed or not, she pushed him and headed to the villa's back garden.

"Mr. Lin, since you've seen it, I won't hide it from you anymore."

Lin Tianyu was about to question what she meant when she suddenly spoke.

Her tone was serious, and even carried a hint of sincerity.

"The truth is, I'm not Su Xinuo, which means I'm not your original marriage partner."

Hearing this, Lin Tianyu's eyes flickered slightly, taking on a dreamy appearance under the warm yellow light of the night.

His thin lips barely touched, his husky and deep voice carried forth.

"Then who are you."

He had felt something was amiss all along, but he didn't expect the woman to volunteer the truth so openly.

"I'm also a daughter of the Su family, just the one that was abandoned."

As Su Fanxing shrugged her shoulders nonchalantly, speaking as if she were a mere observer, her tone revealed no concern.

Abandoned?

Lin Tianyu's brows suddenly knitted together, looking at the woman in front of him who dared to strut around before him. She was actually a child who had been cast aside?

"It's a long story, but also simple. The Su family captured me to replace your original bride and marry you, and I had no choice but to agree because they kidnapped my adoptive parents."

Su Fanxing did not mention why the Su family was unwilling to let Su Xinuo marry into the Lin family.

Indeed, she was somewhat concerned about hurting the pride of the man before her.

After all, as the eldest son of the Lin family, with such status and skill, not to mention his exceptional looks, he was, nonetheless, disabled.

In the end, Su Fanxing congratulated herself for her compassion, truly understanding.

"And it was just now that I learned your stepmother was also involved in this, aiming to have me monitor you and, by the way, steal Lin Corporation's contracts."

After blurting out the entire matter in one breath, she herself felt a great deal of relief.

However, what she couldn't fathom was that she had exposed all the secrets, with no attempt at concealment.

But when she looked at the person before her, not a single expression changed, as if everything she said had been nothing but air.

In fact, Lin Tianyu had heard every single word, without missing a thing.

He even understood the unspoken reasons why the Su family had replaced the marriage with someone who had been abandoned.

His heart was not without surprise, but stepping back ten thousand feet, whether the person before him was Su Xinuo or not, it had nothing to do with him.

Nevertheless, thinking about Lin Tianze's feigned demeanour earlier, if the truth was indeed as such...

Lin Tianyu casually glanced at the armrest and made a mental note of this.

"Mr. Lin."

His thoughts interrupted, Lin Tianyu raised his head to look at the woman before him.

Su Fanxing considered herself to be an extremely tolerant person, but faced with Lin Tianyu's attitude, she couldn't help but get angry.

"I've finished speaking. Shouldn't you at least have some sort of reaction? No matter how you look at it, we were husband and wife."

Still silent, he gave no answer.

Watching as Lin Tianyu made to move his wheelchair away, Su Fanxing panicked, quickly stepping in front of him, stretching out her hand to block his path.

"Do you even know what you're doing?"

Finally, he spoke, his voice as cold as the ice in December, grudgingly retracting her hand.

Su Fanxing admitted that she was somewhat taken aback by Lin Tianyu's sudden imposing presence, but she refused to admit defeat in this matter.

"All I know is that, given our current relationship, and the upbringing one has from childhood, you should not leave without saying a word."

Lin Tianyu lifted his head to see Su Fanxing's slightly tilted chin, her eyes flickering with indecision, and the corners of his mouth curled into a cold sneer.

Truly a fearless woman.

"Whether what you said is true or false, it has nothing to do with me. We both know perfectly well why our families arranged this union."

Having finished speaking, he saw that Su Fanxing was still standing motionless before him, his patience rapidly dwindling.

"I warn you, no matter who you are from the Su family, once you enter the Lin family's door, you must remember your place, what you should and shouldn't say. I trust I don't need to teach you that."

Initially somewhat intimidated, Su Fanxing felt her anger flare up upon hearing these words.

Far from leaving, she took a step closer instead.

Her knee almost collided with the toes of Lin Tianyu's foot on the footplate.

"Mr. Lin, what do you mean by this? Are you saying you don't believe what I just told you?"

"Why should I believe you?"

Disliking any physical encroachment, even the mere proximity made Lin Tianyu uncomfortable.

Subconsciously, he shifted back a step, but unexpectedly, the woman followed him closely.

"Why would I lie about something like this? Is being abandoned something to be proud of? Or are you suggesting I'm lying about stealing your documents, am I out of my mind?"

"Woman, I'm warning you for the last time, it's best not to play any tricks. It won't do you any good."

It wasn't that he didn't trust Su Fanxing, but that he trusted no one.

Lin Tianyu's eyes grew colder, the tight line of his jaw clearly signalling that strangers were not welcome.

The two of them fell silent, and after a long while, Su Fanxing suddenly chuckled, her laughter bright and clear.

"Mr. Lin, I know that in our circle, everyone has a bit of a persecution complex. How about I pledge my loyalty to you, what do you think?"
