By noon in Lord Ryver's manor, a few of the guests that had stayed behind prepared to leave. Among them was Griselda, who had helped Ryver prepare breakfast and then wash up Layla, knowing how tedious a wedding night can be for the bride.
"Thank you so much, Grisie," Iva muttered, holding the woman's hand. "You had no reason to be a mother to me, but then... you did. Extended the same love you had for Lyn to everyone. To Layla."
Griselda smiled. "You can always come to me if there's something you need. I had suggested servants, but it seems you and your husband decided against it."
Iva nodded. She and Ryver had decided to learn everything alone. Layla had faced trauma all because of servants. And not just her, Iva and Ryver didn't trust anyone aside from their family to help out in their house anymore.
