The headache I felt was pounding in my head. It was morning, and it still affected me.
It was from aether exhaustion, as I had been practicing all night, exhausting my reserves and waiting for them to fill so I could practice again, over and over.
I fell asleep a couple of hours after the final bell of the day sounded and was around 8oclock.
My practice wasn't as fruitful as I had hoped; I was only able to increase my casting time by one second.
Even if it wasn't as much as I aimed for—two seconds—I reminded myself that it had only been one day, and I would keep practicing until the Zelk arrived.
Speaking of those deer-like bastards, I didn't even know when they would appear. In the game, it was mentioned in passing by the academy newspaper.
It was sometime before the end of the first semester, which was not too long after Amit was suspended.
I was giving myself a week at most before the invasion; anything after that would be bonus time to train.
I didn't know when they would appear, and I had no idea about the mysterious artifact I speculated they were after
. It was so fucking annoying not knowing anything! But even so, I had to prepare and go into town to do so.
As for my training, I had to put it on pause; I needed to grab many things from town: bombs for the invasion, potions to speed up my practice, and maybe even some new spells. I had many things in mind and many things i wanted to experiment with.
But how would I get into town? I had kicked out all the servants who would have taken me. Damn it, I slightly regretted doing that already—it had only been a day.
Wait! Amit had his own transportation, and if I remembered correctly, he had it brought to the manor but hadn't used it yet. I grinned as the details came back to me.

In the garage of the vacation house, I marveled at the motorcycle I was about to ride but instead of where an engine there was shimmering blue crystal at the center
Yes, it was a fucking motorcycle!
Well, in this world, it was called an aethercycle, as it was powered by an aether crystal. They focused on magic more than science, so everything depended on magic in this world.
I didn't know how to ride aethercycles or even a normal motorcycle, but Amit did, and boy, was I going to have a joyride with this thing.
****
WOOOSH-!
It felt so good having the wind blowing through my hair. The aethercycle didn't even make a loud engine noise but emitted a soft hum as I sped down the road.
Again, it was a weird feeling knowing this was the first time I had ever driven, but Amit's memories gave me the experience.
It felt like I was tracing a photo with my eyes closed, but when I opened them, my tracing was perfect.
The aethercycle was quick; it only took me five minutes to get into town, even from the outskirts where the vacation house was located.
I parked my little vehicle in a horse stable to hide it. Aethercycles were really expensive, but just for extra assurance, I had used my family name to threaten the stable master to keep it safe.
The privilege of being a young master sure was useful sometimes. was it evil threaten the poor man maybe but does it matter if he not even real?
As I walked through the middle of town, I marveled at my surroundings.
For such a small place, it was incredibly lively. There were many roadside stalls, people going to work, and families enjoying their time in the town.
It was so realistic that if I didn't know better, I would almost think it was real. Poor NPCs were all going to die soon. Why would someone create a false world and put me in it?
I shook off the negative thoughts and continued walking.
It only took me around ten minutes to find what I was looking for.
In front of me was a store, but it was much nicer compared to most I had seen. Well, I mean, artificers made a lot of money.
They were magical engineers who could create tools with magical functions using an aether crystal.
The sign read "Wynn's Artificing."
I walked into the shop.
Many items were on display, from magic guns to staffs, and was that a magic armor?!
God, this world was so cool sometimes.
The only thing missing was my phone.
Oh, how I missed scrolling from day to night! I really missed consuming short-form content all day.
I could feel a tear streak down the side of my face.
"Um, are you going to buy something, or are you going to cry while looking at items?" The deep, gruff voice I heard sounded slightly amused.
"Uhh, would you believe me if I said I was admiring the beauty of the items?"
"No, but no need to dwell on that. What do you need from my shop?" the man, who I guessed to be Wynn, replied.
I followed the voice to the front counter and saw a bald man with a long, scruffy beard.
"Do you take custom orders?"
"We do, although you will have to pay an extra fee, and it will take a certain amount of time for the item to be made."
"How many detonable aether bombs can you make?"
The older man's eyes widened as he looked at me as if I were crazy.
"I'm going to have to ask why, if you don't mind. I don't want a terrorist running around with bombs I made."
I tried my best offended spoiled noble look and started lying through my teeth. I mean, I couldn't tell him there was going to be a Zelk invasion, right?
I made a show to display the disgust on my face. "YOU THINK I, AMIT NEANT, SON OF ARCHDUKE OLIVER NEANT, WOULD BE A TERRORIST?!"
I made sure to display the insignia of my house on the medal I was holding—something I had found using my new memories in Amit's room.
It held a symbol of a dragon roaring in the face of monsters.
The man paled as he immediately tried to remedy the situation.
"I'm sorry, young master! Please forgive me."
"I think I can only forgive you if I get a discount on my bombs or should my father hear of this?" I said, a devilish grin spreading across my face.
I think I love being a young master!
