Chapter 24

In his bedroom, he sat cross-legged on the bed.

"Deep Blue!"

After he called inwardly, the window of the cheat tool emerged.

Le Xaan then focused his mind on Jade Crane Skill.

"This time, there would be no problem."

Modifying on a set of martial arts at long intervals would reduce the burdens on his body.

"Up by one level!"

Le Xaan's gaze was fixed on Jade Crane Skill.

Soon, the description of Jade Crane Skill changed from 'Novice' to 'The First Level'.

Almost at the same time, Le Xaan felt his chest and abdomen burning. He was now extremely thirsty, and his face flushed a bright red.

He knew from reading the manual that it was a result of his vital organs being depleted of energy.

He promptly got out of bed and picked up a teapot containing Dendrobium tea, taking one sip after another.

Dendrobium was a kind of medicinal herb that nourished one's vital organs, native to Central Land.

The Le family's pharmacy had stored up a certain amount of Dendrobium, which was readily available to Le Xaan.

After gulping down three consecutive cups of the tea, Le Xaan felt that the heat around his chest and abdomen had now completely dissipated.

"According to the manual of 'Jade Crane Skill', it had a total of two levels.

It takes a practitioner just a day to feel the Qi, yet one hundred days to enter the 'Novice' level, and two to three years the First level while the Second Level calls for five to ten years' arduous cultivation."

"But, now with the cheat tool, a single click on the button saves me two years' worth of cultivation. This feels really good."

He obviously sensed that the stream of air became thicker than before.

If he compared it to a thread beforehand, now it was akin to an adult's small finger.

Le Xaan then cast a glance at Crashing Heart Palm.

Its description was still 'Inexperienced'. Different from inner-body Qi cultivation methods, outer-body martial arts only required Le Xaan to remember their moves and mental scripture before he could modify them with the cheat tool.

The modifications on Qi cultivation methods were more troublesome, entailing his feeling of Qi.

Le Xaan planned to maximize the levels of Jade Crane Skills first, thereby improving his constitution, before he would modify on the outer body martial arts. As such, his body would not be overly burdened.

In the following two days, Le Xaan went on learning from Cyam Suin, committing Crashing Heart Palm to his memory.

Then, he went to visit another master.

The second master was named Duin Zyen. He was once a sheriff as well, a former colleague of Cyam Suin.

His slashes were swift beyond compare while unleashing Swallow Chasing Wind Blade Style.

Unfortunately, his wrist tendons were cut off while fighting with a criminal. His combat abilities then slipped drastically. Duin Zyen was a withdrawn man who had no offspring because he had never married.

Le Xaan was instructed by Duin Zyen for four days.

In fact, from Le Xaan's perspective, Swallow Chasing Wind Blade Style slightly fell short of Black Tiger Blade Style. Nonetheless, grasping hold of one more set of martial arts was no bad thing.

Before long, he once again talked Elder Zaner into introducing other famed martial arts experts to him, especially those retired ones.

Upon getting the approval of his father, Le Finn, Le Xaan went on greasing the skids with money and learned two more sets of martial arts --- Floating Cloud Footwork and Double Edged Blade Style, both of which felt inferior to Black Tiger Blade Style.

But Le Xaan understood that since Elder Zaner was already the top-five expert of Gourian City, it was hardly surprising that other masters' martial arts came up short.

Over the next two months, Le Xaan devoted himself to tirelessly practicing these sets of martial arts.

He kept consuming a huge amount of tonics to nourish his body.

His monthly expenditures on medicinal herbs exceeded one thousand silver coins, an astronomical figure for an average family.

Thanks to Le Finn's support, Le Xaan was able to squander money in such an unbridled manner.

Time flowed swiftly.

It was September, the autumn descending as the summer faded away.

It had been three months since Le Xaan transmigrated into this world.

"Young Master, you really worked hard."

Elder Zaner stroked his beard while looking at Le Xaan, who was currently practicing Swallow Chasing Wind Blade Style in the drill ground.

Le Xaan had never modified on the set of blade techniques. Actually, these few days, he has not used the cheat tool even once, trying to teach himself.

He was of a mind to discern the distinction between the outcomes of his grueling practices and those resulting from the cheat tool's modification, if any.

And Swallow Chasing Wind Blade Style was a less complex set of martial arts, therefore suitable for him to practice by himself.

Swish!

Swish, swish, swish!

The scarecrows around Le Xaan were slashed into two, one after another.

Le Xaan's weapon was a roughly five feet long blade. He then sheathed the blade on his back, signifying the end of his daily training routine.

"I started training in these martial arts too late. If I do not buckle down and practice, I fear I would never catch up with you, Elder Zaner."

Le Xaan smiled and went on,

"And I have to thank you for your introductions and instructions."

Elder Zaner waved his hand.

"Young Master Xaan, I know that you are gathering martial arts both for yourself and the Le family's later generations. However, the experts I recommended to you are nearly all across Gourian City that have intentions of accepting disciples. So, what do you plan to do next?"

Le Xaan pondered at Elder Zaner's words as Qiki rushed up to wipe the sweat off his face.

"Since in Gourian City there are no more..."

"It's no good! it's no good!" Abruptly, a servant flew into the drill ground on churning legs with an ashen face while barking.
