Confrontation.

Aiden.

His eyes roamed over me, his icy gaze sharp and cold. I feel the goosebumps force its way out of my skin along my arms as our eyes stay on each other, his expression, unreadable.

He flared his nostrils swiftly as he walked past me, with a threatening and dismissive look.

What was that?

Is he looking down on me again?

The buzzing sound in my head grew louder, mingling with a rising anxiety that tugged in my chest and all I could think of was the first day our eyes met.

I remember the mocking looks, the cold smirks, the way everything changed since that very first encounter with this asshole.

The voices in my head tripled. All the constant shits I have had to put up with because of this person played out before my eyes. I have been tagged an outcast because of this same piece of shit.

I was going nuts.

It drove me insane.

Before I could catch up to my reasoning, my mouth moved on its own.

"Hey!" I called him out, turning back to face him. I could feel Salvador's tugging on my clothes as he tried stop me but I shake his grip off me. I was pissed out of my mind. These people were messing with me and it was working.

Bale paused, his muscle unstiffling as he slowly turned his head back to me. His eyes fall on me again without warning with the faintest hint of a smirk tugging at his lips.

He lifted his brows at me, his posture relaxed, as if he were amused, yet his eyes carried that ever-present coldness that gave me an instant chill below my spine.

"Interesting... A vampire... Do I know you?" His tone was calm, almost bored, as though my outburst was nothing more than a momentary distraction.

This bastard...

I clenched my fists. His unbothered looks getting to me with every passing second. I feel my fangs pricking inside my mouth. "Oh I know you recognize me very well." I tell him.

Bale's smirk widened slightly. "Should I, vampire?" He asked in amusement staring down my soul as his eyes drifted to Salvador behind before taking them back to me. "Stay in your lane. You wouldn't last a minute challenging me."

His voice resounded in my head sending another wave of shivers down my spine but I pushed it aside, ignoring it. "You think I'm scared of you?" I move closer, his scent enveloping me but Salvador gripped my arm very tight in an attempt to stop me from moving towards him as my eyes remained unwavered on Bale that looked at me outrageously, almost bursting into laughter.

This was all fun and games to him. He was mocking me. He was riling me. I looked more like a plaything to him.

I wanted to punch that look off his face. "You think I'm running from you? You think you control everything? Just wait till I fuck you up. I'm not running anymore, Fuck you!"

Bale's eyes glinted, I see a flash of something dangerous sparking within them. He didn't find my words funny anymore.

Effortlessly, he strolled down the two stair path he stood above in gentle steps flaring his nose as he neared me again.

Salvador instinctively backed up a few inches away in reflex, avoiding the Alpha's eyes by all means.

As he towered before me, I took in a gulp without realizing it. His build and broadness shadowing me but all I could focus on were his eyes; they demanded my stillness and ordered my composure, seizing my thoughts all at once.

I couldn't say anymore.

Something commanding exuded from him.

I wanted to know what he was thinking... I wanted get into his head. For the first time ever I was thankful for my abilities, happy that I would get to see what his weaknesses were only to be cut off short when the most shocking thing happened. I stared into his soul to read him but I couldn't.

I couldn't read him.

I couldn't hear his thoughts either.

"Should I just pluck those eyes out?" He tilted his head slightly with the darkest gaze I have ever seen, eyes evaluating my features one after another, from my eyes down to my nose, then to my lips before bringing those flamy orbs back to mine. "Who the fuck do you think you are standing in front of me sprewing nonsense? King of Vampires? Go home and sober up before I actually kill you".

He flared his nostrils again, sniffing in while allowing his eyes to memorize the features on my face once again, giving me a look of disdain and interest.

For a moment there it felt as though the world shrank to just the both of us and I am unable to just break this stare.

With that, he turned away, going up the stairs gracefully and disappearing into the crowd that parted by a glimpse of him.

I didn't realize I was holding my breath until I let out an exhale through my mouth, all that riled up anger in me forgotten. I couldn't even muster up words.

What just happened?

I hear Savaldor's steps before his arms moved my body to face him. "WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU JUST DO?" He yelled at me, eyes wide in shock but my thoughts were too wrecked to even fathom words.

I walk past him moving to the direction of the car while he hurried his steps to catch up to me. "Why did you do that?" He asked me again trying to cut me off halfway to the car but I paused before he attempted it.

"I'll see you at home". I tell him, running off in a superspeed.

He was yelling after me but I pushed out his words from my hearing, running off and out of the werewolf boarding quarters.

Why did I do that?

I dash into the darkness of the night.
