Higher Power

The tower made of bone seemed to stretch into the sky without stopping. Space itself distorting the top, making it seem unreachable when in reality it was much closer than anyone could expect. In a room of the dull white tower stood a man. Seemingly in his early adult years but acting much older, he gave off the appearance of dignity and royalty. The power radiating from him even in his suppressed state that the deity had ordered him to stay in. He had long, elegant hair that shined an ethereal white. Matching perfectly with the greenish yellow of his eyes that looked like none other than a cornfield at sunset.

With a grunt, the man walked slowly toward the window with a graceful gaunt. He had sensed something rather troubling, but familiar none the less. In some corner of the vast expanse he had once ruled over, a presence folded itself out of a rift in space time. The figure of a young man, not too much younger than the one in the tower had to have been rolled to a stop on a beautiful blue surface at the edge what seemed like a hill.

Using his exertion of control over the space time he had once ruled over could still allow him some sense of omnipresent ability. Able to see all through subtle rifts convincingly hidden just out of sight. The man sighed with a dejected expression as he looked at the pitiful state of the man and the interesting watch on his right wrist.

"Why did he come out in this part exactly? Wasn't he not supposed to come to my side of reality, much less the one I had discarded." The fragments of my once proud deed lay scattered for miles and miles on end. Like a big beautiful blue scar on the land of the diverse other world. With a faint grimace on his face, he watched as the young man eagerly read the runes played out on his strange watch.

"It never gets easier, no matter how many times it happens. I just wish he'd have taken the truth of the situation with a little more hesitancy. Oh well. Just like old times I guess."

With that, the man disappeared into the one singular remaining semblance of mercy he had left in his possession. The golden mirror in the corner of the room.
