Awaiting The Savior!

Chapter 15: Awaiting The Savior!

"What do you mean we have no way out?" Sabrina, who was close to Zen, asked, her eyebrows squinting.

"As you just heard." Zen said as he turned to look at Sabrina, pointing at a big block close to the next gate.

"There is no trap here, no hint to what we have to do, and there is only that thing." Zen explained and stopped.

"And what does that do?" she asked.

"How would I know? I can only guess that it probably needs something heavy. At least, this is what my gamer instincts tell me." he shrugged.

"Well, can't we just use something heavy? Like a boulder or something." Max, who was with Alex and Dali, stated, pointing at the two square rocks that were holding the gate closed.

"You might be right." Zen went into deep thought once again.

"Big Changus, we'll need your help." He then looked at Changus, who was looking down and asked for his help.

"Ah... Alright." Changus, hearing this, walked slowly towards the first rock.

He squatted down and put each hand on the opposite side and with *Hupp* he lifted it.

Small debris, dirt, and dust fell from the rock, and Changus, who was lifting the rock with ease, moved towards the door while holding it on his back, leaning on it with his head.

"Hah!" *BOOOM*

The rock fell and the room quaked once again but the door was nowhere near open.

"Use the second." Melissa shouted for Changus.

"Yeah, you got it, man; only one left." Max supported him.

Changus went back, lifted the second rock, and put it in its place.

*BOOM*

"It didn't open." Sabrina pursed her lips while looking at the door that was only lifted slightly, only enough for the rats to enter.

"Food, Food." Meanwhile, on the side, Dali was still dealing with them.

"Ahhh, so annoying." Alexander, who had enough of the rats, came all the way next to Dali.

*Squish*

"Ah, brother, die, traitor!" and the rats ran.

"Why did you do that?!" Dali shouted at Alexander in anger; the young man, however, just put his finger on his ears and turned around.

"You do that one more time and we will throw you away." Alex, who was overly annoyed by Alexander, looked at him with stern eyes and warned.

Alexander felt his face burning from shame, and tried to look away but all eyes were on him, all angry.

"Tsk." He scratched his head.

"Apologize." Sabrina ordered him.

Alexander tried to ignore her, feeling like something was stuck in his throat.

"What are you waiting for?" Max added.

"Alright, alright, jeez, so annoying." He continued scratching his head as he faced Dali, who was still angry that the rats who allowed him to show his worth had left while calling him a traitor.

"I'm sorry." That was all Alexander said before turning back to look at Sabrina and Max.

"Happy now?" he asked.

"Don't try to act all haughty; if you think we're going to forgive you next time, you're wrong." Sabrina warned.

Alexander, hearing this, clicked his tongue once more and accidentally met Zen's eyes, which were warning him and moved back to the entrance they just came from, sitting right next to the corner.

"So, what do we do now?" Melissa asked, getting closer to Zen with Speed next to her.

"We wait." Zen replied.

"Wait for what?" she asked.

"Wait for someone with the right trait to come; we can't do anything."

"How long would that take?" Melissa spoke, reminded of the fact that they will have to spend more time in this hellhole. She was getting too impatient; she had to let off some steam and this place was too dangerous for that.

"If it takes too long, then I will go look around." Zen stated and everybody gazed at him.

"I'm coming with you." Alex announced, sitting on the ground.

"Then I will come too." Max added himself to the crowd.

"Can I come?" Dali asked.

"I'll go." Yu, who was silent on the side, also announced.

"Dali, you'd better stay." Sabrina looked at Dali and said.

Then she came closer to him and whispered something that made him gulp and nod.

"Alright, I will stay." He retracted his words, looking more confident in himself and slightly on guard too.

Zen smiled seeing this.

"Alright, it's us four then." Zen looked at the volunteers and sat down.

"Hopefully, no psycho comes over again." Melissa, remembering the Safe Zone incident, sighed and spoke.

Lisa flinched upon hearing this and tears threatened to fall from her eyes but she held them back before anyone saw them.

One by one, the group sat down, and the atmosphere became still.

"Satoru." Zen suddenly spoke, addressing the man with the japanese name.

"Hmm?" Satoru, who was deep in thought and drowning in his feelings, raised his head and took a look at Zen.

"Are you from Japan?" Zen asked.

"Japan? What's that? I'm from Jinsei." Satoru looked at Zen, confused.

"Aren't you all?" he asked, looking around.

"No, everybody here is from a different world." Melissa replied, shrugging her shoulders and raising her hands.

"What? I didn't know that." Yu exclaimed, clearly surprised.

"Yeah, man. We didn't know either. It was something we discovered by asking a few questions not too long ago." Max replied.

"What we should be asking is what's the purpose of this whole trial. Is hell really supposed to be like this?" Melissa asked once again. She thought hell was a party between bad people, not like this.

"We had quite a few examples of hell back on Earth. Some were way worse than this, some were straight away in heaven but with Satan as the leader, and others were, well, all kinds of examples. All in all, this one is by far not the worst I've heard." Zen replied to Melissa's question.

"Yeah, it seems even the notion of hell is different." Sabrina shook her head.

"So guys... What's going to happen when we get out?"
