Weapon Of A King

Reagan left the smithy after a month, as promised to the master, dragging a trunk on the ground and carrying the weapon slung over his back. His eyes reflected the success of everything he had done inside after creating the weapon.

When he arrived, he saw the twins smiling as they walked out of the Great Keep. "What made you two so happy?" he asked, looking at them.

"Brother!!" They dashed over to hug his legs after crying aloud.

"Okay, you two, spill it." Reagan could tell something was up when he saw their expressions as they hugged him.

Arya, who was smiling at Reagan, took the initiative. "Mother told us that sister Lyanna would be Stark in three days."

"And father said she would be staying in Winterfell from now on!!" Artos finished with a beaming smile.

Reagan paused for a moment and thought, 'Damn! I am getting married. It's too good to be true.'

Reagan smiled at the twins and said, "Come on, let go of my legs; I need to see our father."

"We will, if you show us what is in the trunk." Artos said, looking at the trunk his brother was dragging.

Reagan smiled at the curious Artos and said, "I am going to show this to our father. You are welcome to come and see what is inside." He paused and asked the two, "Do you know where Alys is?

"Sister's in the Godswood with Snow." Arya informed him.

"Alright. Here's what you will be doing:. He dropped the trunk and crouched down to their level, saying, "One of you go bring Alys and the other bring mother to the solar, where I will be waiting with father to show you what I have been doing in the smithy."

"Alright! I am going to bring our mother over." Arya bolted towards the greenhouse.

Reagan looked at Artos and said, "It appears you need to find Alys."

"Yeah! "I will go to Godswood." Artos also ran toward Godswood.

As the twins departed, he smiled to himself, "Ironically, the Greenhouse is beyond the Godswood, but it is easier to find a mother in the Greenhouse than Alys in the Godswood. They are growing up nicely."

Reagan continued walking until he reached the solar inside the Great Keep, which was guarded from the outside. Reagan, nodding to the guards, knocked on the door and asked, "May I enter, father?"

"Yes, you can enter." He got permission from his father from within.

Reagan became curious and asked, as his father was quickly signing documents, "What are you doing, Father?"

Brandon looked up at Reagan and said, "I am arranging the Lord's food and lodging for your wedding." Brandon, eyeing the axe on his back, asked, "Is that your new weapon?"

Reagan smiled when his father inquired, "Yes, it is my new weapon."

Brandon set down the pen and held his hands together on the desk, saying, "I expected you to create a sword like Ice. But I was clearly mistaken.

Reagan nodded and said, "I like Ice; I will not deny it. But that is the ancestral sword of House Stark, which we received from the Valyrians." Reagan took the axe from his back and said, "This is the weapon of a king, made in the North itself. It embodies what our family stands for."

Brandon raised an eyebrow at his son's words and asked, with a sly smile, "Who died and made you King?"

"Heh. I know you are itching to retire and delegate all of your responsibilities to me so you can spend more time with my mother." Reagan said as he placed the axe on the table for his father to inspect.

He carefully examined the axe and ran his finger over the runes Reagan had carved on the axe-hammer head. While touching the blade, he sensed a cold aura emanating from the blade. So he asked Reagan, "Did you add those shards from the others?"

"Yes." Reagan gave a simple answer.

"Sigh. I am not an expert in rune magic and all." Looking up from the weapon, Brandon continued, "But it appears that it will attack anyone except you. So be careful when handling them."

"Alright, I will be cautious." Nodding to his father as he sat opposite him, he inquired, "But you did not deny it, though."

"Deny, what?" Brandon inquired, acting perplexed.

"You know what, father, about your desire to retire as King and delegate all of your responsibilities to me?" Reagan informed him.

"I will neither deny nor agree with that statement you made." Brandon told Reagan as he leaned back in his chair, smiling.

"Alright. Have it your way, then." Reagan said, leaning back in his chair.

Sarra, Alys, Arya, and Artos entered the solar at precisely that moment through the open door. He turned to look at them and said, "Hello there!"

"It is great to see you too, son." Kissing his forehead, Sarra moved around the table to sit beside Brandon and asked, as she saw the weapon on the table, "Is this what you have been working on for the past month?"

"Yes, mother. Do not touch it, however. "It will bite." Reagan informed his mother.

"How can a weapon bite?" Alys looked at the weapon, and Reagan asked, "Is it sentient?" as she sat next to him.

"Not sentient. No, it will not work with anyone other than me or my children." Reagan told his sister as he watched their youngest siblings carefully inspect the weapon without touching it.

"Okay, so it is just for you and your descendants. "We got that." Sarra paused and asked, "What did you name it?"

"Frostbringer." Reagan said as he removed it from the table.

"Does it mean anything?" Alys questioned her brother.

Reagan smiled at her as he stood up and swung the Frostbringer from side to side, causing frost to form on the blade and making the air around it visible due to the cold. Seeing this, Alys muttered, "Well, that settles it."

Sarra shook her head at what her son had created over the last month and thought, 'He would make a name for himself in the upcoming war. I am confident that Lyanna will keep him grounded in reality rather than letting fame get to his head.

As Reagan stopped the swinging and showed the frost-covered blade to the twins, Sarra asked him as she was looking at the trunk that was set aside, "Arya brought me here, saying that you would be showing us something. So care to show it us."

"Straight to the point." Smiling at her, he slung the Frostbringer on his back and lifted the trunk from the ground to place it over the desk. He looked at his youngest siblings and said, "Stand on the chair, or you will not see them."

They hurriedly climbed over Reagan's chair, eager to see what the mystery trunk contained. Reagan smiled at their enthusiasm as he opened the trunk, which contained three helmets that resembled wolf heads. Two of them were painted black, while one was painted white.

"Wow!" The twins were amazed by what they saw and immediately asked Reagan, "Where is the rest?"

"I have not made yours because you will not be marching with us. The same goes for the mother. But do not worry. "I will make them when the war is over." Reagan reassured the twins, and they nodded in agreement, but Artos inquired, "Will we have matching armor?"

Reagan laughed as he said, "I wanted to make full armor for everyone, but time was not on my side." He patted Artos' head and said, "I will make matching armor for our helmets."

After telling Artos that, Reagan took one black wolf helmet and handed it to Brandon, saying, "This is for you, father."

He took the white wolf helmet and handed it to Alys. "And this is for you." Alys quickly grabbed it from his hands and began closely inspecting the helmet.

Brandon, on the other hand, was looking at his helmet's green gems that served as its eyes and asked his son, "Did you model them after our wolves?"

"Yes." Reagan smiled as his father deducted it immediately after noticing the gem for the eye on top.

Brandon nodded and replied, "Good. I believe this will cause fear in the enemies."

"Of course. It will be a nightmare for them. If I am correct, a new rumor will emerge in the South after the war is over." Reagan explained.

Brandon, staring intently at the green gems, added to Reagan's statement: "That the Starks, the Kings of Winter, can transform into a large direwolf." Looking at Reagan, he asked, "Isn't that right, son?"

"Exactly, Father." Reagan smiled and thought to himself, 'And I will make it a reality before Aegon, the sister fucker, comes to conquer the Seven Kingdoms.'
