Houndhaw fruit

It was a fruit. With glowing violet skin and blue leaves, in the centre of the fruit was a shimmering blue gem which looked very much like a diamond, except it was not.

Damien could see that the gem was actually soft and jelly-like, only its appearance was like that of a gem.

[Houndhaw fruit.

Characteristics: Used as pain suppressants.

Evolved Characteristics: Could be used to create a light spell which can be substituted for chemotherapy.]

[Required Ingredients: Dwarfcherry, Raven Cat's paw, Monk's thorn, Troll Poppy.]

[Collect the remaining ingredients for creating the spell.]

Damien was simply stunned when he read the information displayed in front of him. His eyes flickered as he questioned Dan, "Can you do something like this as well?"

[The host's current body still holds a certain amount of mana which can be morphed and designed as per the system's arrangement, even if most of it has been suppressed and destroyed.]

So, it was because of this body that he was occupying?

But then again it did make sense in some way. This world was not the human world but a beast world where magic and strength seemed to exist and rule.

They couldn't become an anomaly in a world like this, it was a rather good thing that the remnants of the magic power of this body could be used by Dan to create magical spells which could be used to treat others.

His eyes fell on the purchasing section of the screen and it was just as Damien expected, there was no such thing as a chemotherapy machine or dialysis machine up for purchase.

In fact, they did not even exist in this section.

'Most probably this purchasing section only has those equipment that were present in the laboratory at the time of the fire,' Dan thought with a light frown on his face.

As for how Dan was able to bring these things with him, Damien had to ponder over this matter a bit more.

"Thank you," Damien accepted the Houndhaw herb as he did have some use for it.

Mae smiled at him before he thanked him once again.

Having finished with his job, Damien turned on his feet and took his leave.

"Young master! Young master Damien!"

However, just as Damien stepped out of the territory of the hyena beastmen. He heard someone call for him, Damien turned around and saw a man rushing towards him on a sturdy stallion.

His silver hair was swept back and there were many smudges on his blue and white soldiers uniform with golden tassels. His military cape fluttered behind his back.

"Young master Damien! Where have you been?" The man questioned as he jumped down the horse. "You went to get Burr Berries three days ago but never returned. Do you even know how worried General Wolfe is?"

Wistoria Wolfe.

The nominal wife of this man whose body Damien had taken over.

'Worried? Yeah right. The only thing she must be worried about is me running away,' Damien thought while rolling his eyes.

"I was attacked by the Banppee Wolves," Damien answered as he pointed to the blood on his clothes. "Hiding was the only way I could survive."

The predecessor's magic powers were sealed off along with his beast form. It would be too much for him to say that he fended off those wolves for three days.

"Goodness! Are you alright?" The man asked with a frown on his face.

Though he was asking whether Damien was alright or not, the man didn't seem much concerned about him. Of course, he wasn't concerned.

If Damien had died here, then Wistoria Wolfe would have gotten rid of this extra baggage as well as the stain on her name.

"I am alright. At least I lived," Damien answered while walking over to the horse.

"Doctor!"

Damien turned around and looked at the man who was rushing over to where he stood.

"What is a hyena beastman doing trying to get close to you?" The man questioned as his hands reached for his sword.

"There is no need to pull your sword out, Xavier," Damien stopped Xavier as he finally recalled the name of this guard who was handed to him by Wistoria.

Robin walked closer and closer to where Damien was, his eyes fell on Xavier who was eyeing him warily but he only glanced at the man.

With his beast form being a hyena, he was used to being looked at with disdain. What he was not used to was being looked at with kindness as if he was worth it as well.

"What is it, Robin? Are you hurt as well?" Damien asked.

"No," Robin shook his head as he pulled out a bird that was tied to the hook on the side of his belt. "This is Catoo. Its meat tastes really good when roasted, you can find this bird only in our tribe."

Damien looked at the bird with black feathers and a red beak before smiling. He took the Catoo as he knew that it was Robin's way of apologizing.

"Then if I get addicted to the roasted meat of this bird, I will be returning to your tribe," Damien said to Robin, whose eyes widened before he grinned, showing off his pearly white canines.

He punched his chest twice with his fist before saying, "Leave everything to me, Doctor."

Damien nodded and then turned on his feet before getting on the horse with Xavier's help.

Xavier, who helped Damien up on the horse, glanced at the hyena beastman who genuinely looked grateful before turning his gaze away. He raised his whip and hit the hind leg of the horse, it neighed before sprinting past the territory of the hyena beastmen.

"You are welcome to our tribe anytime, Doctor!" Robin cupped his mouth and shouted at Damien who turned around and shouted back,

"You can also look for me when you are in need, just come looking for Damien de Brystoria!"

Robin waved his hand as if signing that he got it.

Soon, as the horse picked up the pace, the giant beastmen turned into a speck of dark spot in the darkness before vanishing completely.
