New Skill: Unlocked

Damien motioned for the snake to get close, the Impert Snake beast blinked its ugly eyes and did as he asked her.

"Host, what are you trying to do?" Dan asked as he looked at Damien with a frown on his face.

It was bad enough that he was talking to a snake that only knew how to hiss but now he seemed to be planning something more dangerous.

"Just shut up and stay put," Damien said to him, his eyes trained on the Impert Snake Beast. He knew what he was doing was so dangerous that he might have as well accepted his death as it would have been kind.

But he wasn't willing to give up. Even if he was a human, with no weapon at hand, he was not going to give up so easily. He was going to fight, no matter what.

This was his second shot at life, his second chance— call him an idiot if you want but he wasn't too keen on dying yet.

So when the Impert Snake Beast got closer, Damien scooped a handful of dirt in his hands and threw it at the beast.

HISSS!!!

"Ahhh! It hurts! I can't see! Despicable, you are not Lord Medus, he would never resort to such cheap and underhanded tactics," the snake's voice hissed inside Damien's head like a drop of cold water trickling past his skull and right inside of it.

The honest reaction to those words was —Well duh. But he didn't linger around to deliver it, instead, Damien got to his feet and scrambled out of the cave.

Behind him, the Impert Snake Beast was still hissing in rage but Damien could still hear him move. It seemed like that thing was chasing after him while relying on its sense of smell.

"Damn that beast," Damien cursed as he ran out of the cave, hurtling past the twists and turns as he ignored the shaking stalactites and stalagmites over his head.

Bits of rocks and dust fell from the roof of the cave under the impact of the screams that the Impert Snake Beast was letting out.

There were times when Damien nearly dodged for his life as the rocks that came down from the roof were big enough to squash him into a pulp.

Finally, just as he thought that he was going to lose his life either in the jaws of the Impert Snake Beast or the raining rocks, Damien found the entrance of the cave.

However, just as he ran outside—

"Woah!" He ran into Xavier who had come looking for him.

The wolf beastman looked down at him, his golden eyes glowed with a strange red aura as he growled.

"Are you alright?" Just like the Impert Snake Beast Damien understood what Xavier was saying to him.

As for why and how Damien didn't care for it at the moment.

"I am alright, but that thing is right behind—"

BANG!

Whatever Damien wanted to say ended up being interrupted when the Impert Beast Snake came slithering behind him.

"Kill…maim..tear the liar…"

Damien could hear all the happy thoughts inside the snake's head and swallowed hard. Oh boy, this thing was faster than it looked right?

Beside him, Xavier let out a roar as he charged at the beast. His fists were wrapped in burning flames. He brought them down with a yell at the head of the Impert Beast Snake but with that thick armour of scales, the beast remained fine.

"This won't do," thought Damien as he looked at the Impert Beast Snake that was fighting back with all his strength even though his eyes were still closed.

If they continued like this then they would be repeating what happened earlier.

They needed a plan but what—

CLANG!

Too late, the Impert Beast Snake had smacked Xavier across his waist. The wolf beastman was sent flying out of the cave because of the impact.

"XAVIER!" Damien cried out as he charged right after Xavier. He caught him around his shins but the beastman was too heavy for Damien to hold and three seconds later, the two of them plummeted as Damien's feet slipped past the edge of the cliff.

As the two of them went down what would have been forty feet, Damien only had one thought in his head —'AHHHHHHH!'

He turned to look at Dan before saying, "Do something!"

"What do you want me to do about this!?" The AI system yelled back but he still looked around before finding something that could help.

Lower and Lower they went, and Damien closed his eyes. However, the impact that he had been waiting for never came instead he felt something tug him backwards as the force pulled him above.

Startled, Damien looked up at Maui who was holding him by the back of his clothes.

"Maui!" Damien never thought that he would be happy to see a rabbit again but at that moment, he would have happily kissed this stead if he could.

"Are you alright, Lord Damien?" Maui asked as he carefully lowered the two of them to the ground.

"Yeah, thanks. I owe you one," said Damien as he turned to look at Xavier. He activated the Eye of observation skill and examined the wolf-beatsman's wounds.

'The cut is quite deep but it is not life-threatening. We just need to sew the skin back and as for the blood loss —the healing sap should be enough,' thought Damien as he hurriedly cleaned Xavier's wounds.

"This might sting a little," he said to the wolf beastman who raised his head and looked at him with an expression that said: Duh, are you serious?

Ignoring his silent sarcasm, Damien started wiping the wound with a disinfectant before activating his sixty-seven-needle skill.

Like a hot knife on slippery butter, the needle sewed Xavier's skin, he didn't dare to let Xavier take the numbing potion. In case this man fell unconscious he would be done for.

And as he pulled the stitch —
