"My body hurts" Seth who was currently paralyzed wondered why that happened, he just woke up and couldn't move anymore.
'Sorry about that, you had too much energy since we barely use abilities to expend them, your body Crystallized the energy…' Thally said as she tried to fix some things.
'…..Wait you are saying I became a beast?' Seth asked blandly.
'Technically I'm the beast now, it's like this if I was a parasite before, I am now a beast parasite which just means I have stronger roots and can gather more energy, so I'm still a parasite but both of us are connected so in simpler terms we are more abnormal, for example, it's like the universe found an error then corrected which then gave birth to something different' She said.
'So my body is adapting that is why I'm paralyzed' He concluded.
'No your body is fusing with my plant cells which would probably fuse your flesh to become a plant You are breaking the limit between a human and a plant, merging into something that is neither fully human nor fully plant, but a hybrid of both,' Thally explained, her voice steady yet tinged with a hint of curiosity. 'This process is… unique, to say the least. It's why your body feels paralyzed—it's adjusting to the transformation.'
Seth tried to process this information, but his mind struggled to comprehend the implications. He could feel a strange sensation creeping through his veins, like roots intertwining with his muscles, binding them in place. His thoughts raced, a mix of fear and intrigue swirling in his mind.
'How long will this take?' Seth asked, trying to suppress the panic rising within him.
'5 minutes to 10 minutes if everything goes smoothly. Your body's resilience is remarkable, so it shouldn't take long, but there's always a chance things might get a little… unpredictable.' Thally's voice was reassuring, yet there was an underlying tension that Seth couldn't ignore.
He could sense the changes more acutely now—his skin prickling as it began to harden, tiny cracks forming along his arms as if his flesh was turning to bark. It was painful, but not unbearable, more like a deep ache that radiated through his entire being.
'What happens if something goes wrong?' Seth asked, his voice laced with a hint of fear.
'Let's not think about that,' Thally responded, her tone attempting to be light-hearted, but Seth could sense the concern behind her words. 'Just focus on staying calm. The more you resist, the harder this will be.'
Seth closed his eyes, trying to steady his breathing. He could feel Thally's presence within him, like a second heartbeat, guiding the transformation. It was strange, having something—or someone—so intimately connected to him, but in this moment, he found comfort in it.
Minutes passed, and gradually, the pain began to subside. His limbs, once heavy and unresponsive, started to regain sensation. He flexed his fingers, noticing how they moved with an odd stiffness as if they were no longer entirely his own. His skin had taken on a faint greenish hue, and he could see small, leaf-like patterns etched across his arms.
'There,' Thally said softly. 'It's done. You've… adapted.'
Seth opened his eyes, staring at his transformed hands. He felt different stronger, more attuned to the world around him, yet also more distant from his humanity.
"Nope" Seth immediately turned his hand back to normal, he liked his arm normal.
"So Jake has gone to breakfast and looks like we are missing breakfast today, also I feel like my dad would have a mental breakdown if I told him I am now, half Plant parasite beast…or just like Nature attuned?" Seth said with a small sigh.
"Hey, at least we are but now literally inseparable, Big Brother plant!" Thally chimed in, trying to lighten the mood.
Seth chuckled softly despite everything, appreciating Thally's attempt at humor. "Yeah, I guess that's one way to look at it. But seriously, what am I supposed to do now? I mean, how do I even explain this to anyone?"
"That's the thing, you don't"
In a dark part of an underground lab, a man was working on a strange ship, his face had dark rocky markings.
"William, did you have to come back to your lab the moment our son went to school" Helen asked with a hint of annoyance.
William sighed and turned to look back at her, his eyes glowing purple in the dark. "…it was my fault fifteen years ago. I can't bear knowing someone hurt my child and went away with it, Illuminati labs…sigh I don't want anyone to get hurt like that again"
Helen moved closer to him. "Yeah, it's been 40 years already and we still haven't got anything, They are hiding something"
"…Sigh, I think I'm becoming more beat by the day Helen, my time is almost up, six months from now my body will change beyond recognition, and I will become something akin to an extraterrestrial being," He said in a monotonous tone.
"If that were to ever happen, I would follow you," she said gritting her teeth.
"No, Helen," William said firmly. "This is not a path you should walk with me. If I transform, if I lose myself, I need you to stay human, to remember what we once were. We've been through so much together, and I don't want to drag you into this darkness."
Helen's eyes filled with tears, her voice trembling as she spoke. "You think I can just stand by and watch you go through this alone? We've faced everything together. I won't abandon you now, not when you need me the most."
William reached out and took her hand, squeezing it gently. "If it comes to that, promise me you'll be strong. Promise me you'll keep fighting, even if I can't."
Helen nodded, her resolve strengthening. "I promise. But let's focus on the here and now. What have you found about Illuminai Labs? We can't afford to waste time."
William turned back to his work, his expression a mix of determination and desperation. "I've been tracing their projects, trying to decode their experiments. There's something they're hiding, something beyond our understanding.
He took out the Hologram of a human with pale skin, long white hair, and a lizard tail, above it was a white flame glowing ominously.
"I have uncovered a bit of it, this is the corpse of an Alien, they resemble humans and they have already used his DNA on a child" He then brought up the image of a boy with red hair and Blue eyes.
"Axel Codenamed: Blue" William said, his voice tinged with both urgency and bitterness. "They've used the DNA to create hybrids. The boy, Axel, was one of the test subjects. They're blending alien and human genes, trying to create a new breed of beings."
"Alien's exist?, Wait how many people di—," Helen was cut off.
"Five years ago, Almost three thousand kids the age of twelve and below went missing, and none of them were found, they first experimented with beasts, the children aren't dead…but they would want to be, The so-called failed experiments are humans who have gone feral and mutated becoming nothing more than cannon fodder for illuminai labs, their goal is unknown and if the council won't help me…I have to take things into my hands" He was tired, No more would he care about measly rules, he was William and he wasn't a pushover, he had his force and he had declared war.
Back at the Academy, Seth was in class, hungry confused, and annoyed.
"So you are Seth, huh you were impressive at the training course" Zack Umbra, the little haughty brat, declared by Seth, was annoying him quite a lot. He wanted to focus but he couldn't.
"Can you shut up, we are in a class not in a public meeting" He said annoyed, For some reason when Zack looked into his eye it reminded him of something or someone.
"Fine…I heard you offended Radiant light by spreading poison ivy on them, their annoying fellows, thankfully my greatness scared them away" He slid his hair back after saying that.
"No they're just clowns, I honestly hate them, like they had to send someone to come deal with me" Since he won't shut up, Seth joined him. It was math class and no one was paying attention to the teacher.
"True, I have been one of their victims too, but their goons are all weak," He said with disdain.
"Yeah, I think most people don't like to want to associate with me now" Seth replied with a sigh, Thally who was on his head patted him. "It's ok, You have me and Emily and Jake"
"Yes because of them I am seen as…an outcast? It is strange to say the least, Since we have conversed let me introduce myself properly" He said with a smile.
"I am Zack Umbra of the DarkHold Group, one of the ten great families and Darkness ability users"
