CHAPTER SIX

"Jude?" "Jo?" We both said confusion etched in our brows. I let out a low chuckle, "We both got a lot of explaining to do" Jude nodded in affirmation.

"Yeah." She sat on her bed and looked around "I see you already arranged your things, when did you become so dutiful and clean?" I gave her a dry smile. "When you left. Bro, I was like when next we see, I'd be better." I said sitting on the ground my legs crossed.

"I'm sorry" Jude said out of the blue.

"Huh?"

"I said I'm-"

"No, I heard what you said but why are you apologizing?"

"You still do that stuff." Jude said with an eye roll before replying. "I'm sorry for not confiding in you and telling you everything. It-" I interrupted her. Again.

"Are you this dumb soulmate?" I asked letting out an exaggerated sigh. "It's obvious I didn't confide in you too. If I did, we'd probably have known we both were coming to Hendrix and all." Jude nodded biting her lip. Something was bothering her, I could tell from her body language but it was best I didn't push her.

"How about we play 'questions?' what do you think?"

"Aiit. I start" Jude replied "Why are you here? I believe you know Hendrix is not an actual school?" I nodded.

"After mum died, I had hallucinations and started hearing voices. Sometimes, it was so bad my whole being got transported to her death scene and stuff. Believe me when I say it's not a good memory. Anyway, I started having a feeling I wasn't...normal anymore" I kept quiet to catch my breath." I went mute and everyone was being a complete bonehead about it, especially Cedric" I mumbled the last part but since I didn't want to talk about that yet, I lit my face and continued talking "turns out being abnormal is useful at times, I have seven spirit friends quote unquote and they are like-" I shut up realizing that I hadn't been able to communicate with them since I came and this gave me mixed feelings.

"Are you okay?" Jude asked, concern evident in her features and worry dripping from her words. Damn, I missed her British accent.

"Yeah, I am. Can I ask my question?" "Yeah sure"

"Alright, why are you here?"

"Well, remember when I told you we move often and don't really stay in a place for long?" She asked and I nodded. I was now sitting in a posture like I wanted to meditate just that my hands were wrapped round my ankles." So, that wasn't exactly a lie. My parents sometimes get missions on earth and the last mission took kinda long so we spent extra time." I let out an inaudible oh.

"My turn." Jude said "Who informed you about Hendrix and helped you get a room?"

"Umm, my aunt" I said casually but since Jude wanted a full answer. I added "Lucerne"

"As in Lilith's twin?" Jude asked wide eyed and I nodded. I wasn't matching her hype, well not until she said

"Lucerne is my mum"

"Fuck, you must be fucking kidding me!"

"Nah bruh, I'm hell bent serious right now" I got up, then sat down and repeated this routine for a few minutes.

"So, we are cousins?" I asked feeling sort of skeptical.

"Yeah" Jude replied with the same skepticism. But soon, the skepticism was replaced by a surge of happiness.

"No wonder we clicked at first sight" I said.

"Exactly, now we can get married" She begun bringing her hand close to my lips. In between laughter, I slapped her hand away. "Get away from me you pervert." Jude pouted before shrugging. "I have a bf now, he wouldn't approve for_"

"Spill" I said. She faked a yawn.

"I'm tired now, we can talk tomorrow." I glared at her. She just shook her head adjusting her pillow. She withdrew her eye mask from her drawer

"I'll tell you tomorrow Jo."

"Soul mate promise?" She nodded.

"Soul mate promise"

I made my way to my bed, taking in everything. I was now at Hendrix- a special school for the 'abnormal', Dad was no longer close to me, For some weird reason, I missed Ro and Mandy especially. I couldn't help but wonder how much time I wasted avoiding her. I shifted on my bed, now resting on my left side so I could get a better look at Jude who stirred in her sleep and turned to face the wall as if hiding from my prying eyes. A smile made its way to my features, I never knew I would be reunited with her but I guess my luck hadn't run out completely. With that smile on my face, I slept off.

I hadn't had enough sleep when I felt someone shake me. I turned to the other side but got pushed off the bed which made me open my eyes. I let out a sigh before gathering my blanket from the floor and dumping them on my bed.

"I always love the wrong set of people" I muttered under my breath but Jude with her good hearing picked that little sound and furrowed her brows whilst crossing her hands over her chest.

Since I had nothing sensible to say,I let my eyes scan her features and it enlarged to twice its size when I figured out she was dressed and had a backpack strapped unto her.

"How late did I wake up?" I inquired making my bed.

"Later than me" I let out a snicker as I adjusted my pillow.

"Pretty early actually, we're the only ones awake. I like being the first to wake up"

"Weirdo" I said getting my towels and toiletries.

"Don't call me that. Genius will sound better you pig"

"Dude, tell me what's so smart about waking up around 2:30am?"

"Well, since you want a bit of my knowledge, I'll fill you in. Waking up this early means you don't have to bother about not having a stall to bathe or someone invading your privacy, you get to the dining hall earlier, choose whatever seat and food of your choice and you can never get late to class"

"OK, I hate to admit but there's little sense in what you just said" I spoke whilst spitting out my toothpaste which had cleaned my teeth. Forgot to mention, we were currently in the bathroom and I was brushing my teeth. I gave Jude my toothpaste and brush to hold while I entered one of the stalls to shower, leaving her to hold my things in the lobby. `

"Of course there is, I said it"

"So, how is it here?" I asked turning on the shower and pretending not to hear her last statement. I put some soap on my body and began to clean it when Jude finally decided to reply.

"It's alright, I guess" Jude said in a tone which meant there was more.

"Carry on" I said reducing the water pressure hoping it would help me hear her better.

"Ugh, it hasn't been easy but not so bad. Being the daughter of Lucerne and direct relative of Lilith who are both powerful witches, they expect so much from me but even though I'm a descendant of witches, I'm not one. Yes, I can do a few difficult spells and summon witches but that's not my ability. It's shape shifting which for some reason is a much underrated power but I love it" Jude ended with a hopeless sigh. I hummed not knowing what to say. Jude and I are kinda similar, if something bad happens to us, we don't want to hear shit like 'I am sorry about that' or 'Sorry you had to go through that', it's literally not their fault so why cascade we with your unwanted pity?

"Jude, I have no idea why our lives are so fucked but I know part of it is because you didn't meet me sooner. If you had met this gorgeous goddess, you would have had a great life filled with-"

"Enough with the self-praise and bubbly speech, we have a long day ahead" Jude said back to her neutral state which was in between emotional wreck and a lifted spirit. I know my way of comforting is not exactly normal but there were two ways to comfort my soul mate: to either sympathize with her, rant about our lives and talk about endless what-ifs or simply distract her from that bugging thought. They both her temporary solutions but the first helps on the long run and the latter helps for the mean time so far I keep her occupied and that's just what I was going to do.

"So about that boyfriend?" I said turning off the shower and wrapping my white towel round my slender frame.

"I thought you would sleep it off" She said as we walked back to the room with her carrying almost everything we'd brought. I was helping out by carrying the towel.

"I didn't so spit it out you bitch before I shove a stick in your ass" I watched her cock one of her eyebrows and furrow her other brow as she cringed at the image of me doing that.

We finally made it to our room and I began to dress up.

"Well, the little shits name is Alan and he's a good guy. You'll meet him later today" I nodded

"For someone you like, I don't think little shit is a great name."

"Oh well, too bad I'm not changing" I let out a chuckle and put on my jacket. I was currently dressed in a white crop top, white cargo trousers, matching jacket of the same colour and a pair of white buffalo boots. I'd picked this style because I wanted to dress similar to Jude but still contrast a bit. Jude was dressed in the same outfit except she wore an oversized tee, ankle boots and wore all black.

"Whatever, let's go for breakfast"

> > >

We already had breakfast about an hour ago and we're currently heading to the office accompanied by the one and only Katie. Katie knocked on the door to Mrs. Stone's and after a few seconds she replied, granting us the permission to enter.

"Oh hi girls, good morning" Mrs. Stone said. She was dressed in nearly the same as what she wore the previous day except this time the wrap around gown was brown. "Juno, you good?" I nodded

"Real good ma'am"

"Alright, I already packed your stuff. Your friends will be here in a few" I nodded even though I had no idea which friends she was talking about. Katie helped me take my stuff to my room while Jude and I waited for my friends.

"Jude, do you know how to perform the purifying and clearance spell" Jude nodded and turned to me. In barely a whisper, she said

" It's alright, I'm the one doing the clearance spell. Just wait for a few minutes"

"Alright, how bad does it hurt?"

"It hurts like hell" I furrowed my brows earning a low chuckle from Jude. "Just a slight headache, it doesn't really do you much harm" I nodded.

A few minutes later, seven people of my age walked in. I was not ready to say anything so I turned to Jude trying my best to if possible, politely ignore their presence.

"Oh well" Mrs. Stone begun "it looks like you don't know this people" of course I don't." I wanted to scream but I decided against it.

"Jude, you know what to do" Jude nodded and told me to sit. She grabbed a bottle of water from Mrs. Stone's cabinet and used whatever spell to turn it cold. "Show-off" I muttered but I think she heard me because she smirked. She told me to sit on a chair and put some ointment on my forehead while the other seven people formed a circle round me joining hands. She started muttering some incoherent words under her breath and I could feel my head hurt but it wasn't that bad. As if nothing happened, the headache disappeared and I was back to normal.

Jude gave me the water and I gulped it all down in one go.

"Alright Jo, I literally just cleared your thoughts; broke the mind link between you and your friends" I was still confused until she turned to them. She pointed to the first guy, he had well combed silk blonde hair with blue eyes. A quite muscular body. He was currently wearing a blue round neck, a black chinos and a pair of white and black vans. Quite basic if you must know.

"This is Blake, the idiot" Jude said and my mouth was now hanging.

"I'm hot right, don't worry get used to it" I rolled my eyes at his confidence before responding.

"Whatever, it's not like I haven't seen better" He clutched his left chest in exaggerated hurt and I heard a snicker from the guy next to him. I might have tainted his hot guy image. Jude didn't give me a chance to reply when she said. I'll introduce you to the others, it's lunch time.

"Foodie" A deep voice said from behind me to which Jude secretly gave him her middle finger, probably to avoid any lecture from Mrs. Stone

"Alright Jude, thanks. Help her with the day's work and bring her by 7pm for her schedule"

"No problem" Jude said and we walked to our lunch table.

I finally met my spirit friends in person but I wanted to meet Alan so bad. As if on cue, I heard Jude's voice.

"Alan" She said waving to a guy. Almost immediately, my head snapped to the side and I met the one and only.

"Alan..." I said
