Chapter Twenty

The car shuddered to a stop, and we stepped out of the vehicle. They helped me with my bags and brought me inside where I was shown my room.

The bed was decorated with a soft blue comforter while the room was painted a tannish brindle. Numerous paintings of four-legged creatures scattered throughout the room along with ribbons in the shade of royal blue as well as various other pictures of what seemed to be a younger Frederick standing next to one of the four-legged creatures.

I was confused, I had no idea what they were called but I was taught all about city animals. The cats who scurry and hunt mice, the dogs who are loyal and protect viciously, the rodents who scavenge through the night, and the birds who soar through the sky.

I was never taught about farm animals though; I suppose it just wasn’t as important as my lessons of survival, but I was curious. What were these majestic creatures?
