Chapter 163: Why The Rush

Cathryn's face turned red, but she did not speak and nodded her head. She picked up her skirt and trotted up the stairs into the house.

It is now three o'clock in the afternoon. The servant Anna had opened the window of the bedroom. The afternoon breeze blew up the white linen curtains, and the sun was shining in with scattered shadows.

Their room was empty, and Keith didn't seem to be there. Cathryn ran up in a hurry and was now disappointed. She loosened her hair and went to the next room, and the nanny was feeding Briston.

She took the baby from the nurse, and Briston finished the last milk in the bottom. He was getting sleepy, and his meaty little fists were on his chest as he stared at his mother with clear, half-open eyes. The eyes suddenly turned into new moons, and Cathryn could see his pink gums that had not yet grown any teeth.
