Unfinished Business

As Marcus finished eating his breakfast, he glanced at the clock hanging on the cafeteria wall, its hands inching closer to the 8. A sense of urgency gripped him; he still had a lot to prepare for his journey into the dungeon. He hadn't even packed his luggage yet. With a decisive nod, he stood up from his table.

"I still have my luggage to prepare, so I will take my leave," he announced to the group.

Serina, who had been observing him closely, raised an eyebrow. "Didn't you come with your maid?"

Marcus knew exactly what she was implying, and he couldn't afford to let her delve any deeper. "I came, but I was sleeping all day yesterday," he replied smoothly, putting on a casual air. "I didn't even tell her to pack my clothes. She doesn't even know I'll be leaving the academy."

Serina nodded, though her eyes lingered on him. She felt a pang of sadness at the thought of his departure, wishing they had more time together.
