Chapter 12 : Zhao Ling

"Greeting to his majesty the emperor", said Zhao Ling shyly. Yang Soren just laughed and said, "haha.... why are you still standing there? come sit down" The Zhao family sit at the guest table. 

Yang Luoya ignored them until Zhao Ling steal a glance at him. His eyes full of curiosity. What's this boy thinking? The party begin as Yang Soren rise his cup and drink it. Zhao Ling still steal some glance at Yang Luoya, but he decided to ignore it as he sip his drink. 

The next day, everything went the same as usual. Yang Luoya tried to stay low for the time being. As soon as he left his room, he saw Zhao Ling and Yang Wei together, and decided to eavesdrop. 

"You're Yang Wei right? i'm Zhao Ling, nice to meet you", Zhao Ling smiled at Yang Wei. 

"uh.... likewise", Yang Wei seems uncomfortable. 

"My dad said we should get along together, so i want to invite you for a cup of tea in the garden"

"sorry, i'm busy", Yang Wei tried to leave the place but Zhao Ling held his hand prevent him from leaving. 

"Why you leave? am i annoying? i just want to get close to you", Zhao Ling make those cute puppy eyes. 

"i-i don't have time for this....." Yang Wei tried to make up a reason but went silent after that. "say.... during yesterday party.... why are you looking at my brother like that?", Yang Wei asked. Yang Luoya surprised that Yang Wei suddenly brought up this topic. There's uncertainity in his eyes. 

"You realized?", Zhao Ling surprised. "well, nothing much.... i just thought your brother was.... scary. You know from the rumours....", Zhao Ling answered, his tone changed from cheerful to scared. 

"My brother isn't scary at all!", Yang Wei defend him. "well... he was scary sometimes, but he's not a bad person" the plot shouldn't be like this. Yang Wei should be afraid of him. 

"i'm not saying that he's a bad person.... it's just... he always glare at everyone else, it's hard to get closer to him" Yang Luoya had sharp eyes since he was born, so everyone thought he's glaring at everyone else. 

"Enough! i'm leaving", Yang Wei left Zhao Ling alone.

As soon as Yang Wei were out of sight, He cried loudly. It's normal for him to cry like that, any 10 years old child will cry if they being yelled at. Right now he's the only one near, if someone sees this, they might think he was the one bullying Zhao Ling.

Yang Luoya hesitate, he don't know how to calm a crying child. He dig into his pocket to find something that might be helpful. He found a candy in his pocket. He tought the candy was good so he brought back some after the party yesterday. 

"um....", Yang Luoya tried to call Zhao Ling, but Zhao Ling noticed him first. He was shocked at first, and then became scared. He's not good at talking with a child so he shove the candy in Zhao Ling palm, "Here" and then left. Zhao Ling just stand there dumbfounded. 

The next day, Yang Luoya just chilling in the garden, enjoying his tea. "So peaceful... i hope everyday were like this"

"wait... i should probably thinking about my plan next.... i can't just keep waiting or i will bear the same fate as the original Yang Luoya"

"ugh.... i want return home.... i miss my family.... My book... My game... it's hard to keep stoic face all the time...", Yang Luoya complain. "so bored....", suddenly a sound was heard.

"Meow...", a white cat came out from the bushes. "cat!", Yang Luoya chases the cat. Startled, the cat run back inside the bushes. "gotcha", He manages to catch the cat. The cat struggles at first, but as soon as Yang Luoya patted the cat, It calms down. 

"so nostalgic.... i miss my neighbor's cat....", Yang Luoya continue to pat the cat hidden in the bushes. "huh? what's that?", Yang Luoya saw a small shiny thing on the ground and pick it up. It was a golden ring, but it was full of dirt. "does someone lost this thing? it looks expensive .... and old"

"Hey do you have time now?", it was Zhao Ling. He's talking to Yang Wei. Fortunately, Yang Luoya who were holding the cat was hidden behind the bushes, eavesdropping them.

"How many times i have to tell you, stop following me! you're annoying!", Yang Wei yell at Zhao Ling and left him alone again. Just like yesterday, as soon as Yang Wei were out of sight, Zhao Ling cried loudly. 

"(why does something like this always happen to me?)", Yang Luoya thought. This time, Yang Luoya didn't brought any candy, he's afraid someome accuses him bullying Zhao Ling. Without thinking, he just come out from behind the bushes. 

Zhao Ling who saw him were surprised and confused at the same time. He stop crying. "Here", Didn't know what to do, Yang Luoya just give the cat he was holding to Zhao Ling and leave. Once more, zhao ling just stand there dumbfounded and confused. He stare at the cat in his hand. "Meow?", Zhao Ling hugged the cat to calm him down. Zhao Ling stop crying. He return to his room and take the cat with him. 

"There you are", It was Zhao Ling's father, Zhao Ming. "I have been looking for you.... where did you get that cat?"

"from the garden.... it's cute so i take it back", Zhao Ling replied. 

"As always.... once you like something you won't give up"

"um... father... i have a question.... Is Yang Wei's brother an alpha?", Zhao Ling asked. 

Zhao Ming surprised when his son asked about this. "well... the way he act, the way he speak, and how strong he is, he's probably an alpha. Why do you ask?"

"It's just... he's the first child but his little brother is the one who get the throne? isn't weird?", Zhao Ling answered. 

"I don't know the reason but it is indeed weird. you know what? some people have secret they want to keep", said Zhao Ming. 

Zhao Wei were silent for a few second and he secretly smiled. He hug the cat tighter. 

"He's not as scary as the rumour said"
