Chapter 28 : Entrance Exam 7
The strength difference between the man and Yang Wei was different. In a quick minutes the man surrendered full of bruises. Yang Wei weapon get confiscated by Ying Feng so there won't be bloodshed during fight. The man condition is pretty bad even if he got beaten up empty handed by Yang Wei.
"I surrender, i surrender", The man sit politely and obediently on the ground while offering his sword. Yang Wei still not satisfied after beating him badly. "That's it? i thought you had more after claiming soon to be my brother dearest junior disciple"
"brother? wait... you're his brother? Why you didn't tell me? we don't have to fight like this. If you're his brother, you're my brother too", Yang Wei anger returned after hearing that. He cracked his knuckles preparing to beat him even more.
"stop it! he could die!", Xu Yanran grabbed Yang Wei arm to calm down.

"Have you calmed down?", Ying Feng asked as he returned Yang Wei sword. "i will be fine as long as he closed his mouth", Yang Wei glared at the man. The man shuddered as Mei Lan treating the man injury caused by Yang Wei.
"Why are you alone? where is your team?", Xu Yanran ask. "They escape first after seeing second grade beast, what a coward. In the end i'm the one who defeat it. I hope that kind of person get eliminated early, it such a disgrace for this sect if they have that kind of disciple. Leaving their friend in danger....", The man babbling.
"so you're a man who uphold justice despite your reckless attitude. What's your name?", Yang Wei said. "I'm Bai Zhi. More importantly, why are you so sensitive about your brother?! Everyone got rights to pursue the person they like. We can compete if you also like him, but you're his brother-", Before he can finish his sentence, Yang Wei raise his knuckle as if tried to beat him up again. Of course Ying Feng stop him.
Bai Zhi shivered again and shrink even more, "I'm sorry, i'm sorry". "So... What should we do with him?", Xu Yanran asked. "Let's bring him along", Yang Wei said. "He's not a lost puppy", Mei Lan said. "The more people, the better. We plan to defeating giant serpent remember?", Ying Feng added.
"Wait wait wait, you plan to subdue the giant serpent? are you crazy?", Bai Zhi surprised. "Yeah, so you better be prepared. By the way.... your sword skill is suck. Change your weapon after this exam", Yang Wei sneer. Bai Zhi get offended by Yang Wei comment.
Yang Wei and the others walk away. When they are bit far away from Bai Zhi, Bai Zhi stand up and follow them while keeping distance. "It's not my real weapon anyway...", he muttered.

At night, they roast rabbit for dinner. "Horned rabbit is grade one beast. It won't attack but they run quite fast. Since they frequently running, their meat is tender", Ying Feng said. "If they are fast, how did you get it?", Xu Yanran asked. "Bai Zhi chased after it. He's quite fast", Yang Wei said.
"guys look what i found. I got several fruit and mushroom", Mei Lan returned with a basket full of fruit and mushroom and place it on the ground. Bai Zhi picked one fruit. "This one is poisonous, this one looks like apple but it's not it's also poisonous. This berry have the same effect as sedative....", Bai Zhi picked one fruit after another.
".... you know much. Are you an alchemist?", Xu Yanran asked. Bai Zhi startled for a second, "uh.. yeah... i learn it from my master". Bai Zhi picked one more fruit. "You got a talent to collect rare materials.... It's better to throw away this one, it's lethal poison... you can kill a strong martial artist with this without anyone else knowing. It doesn't have smell or taste so animal or beast sometimes mistaken it as a normal fruit. But i'm glad this thing is not easy to find or grow", Bai Zhi handed Yang Wei a vibrant looking fruit.
"The meat is done", Ying Feng said. All of them started to eat the cooked meat. Unconciously, Yang Wei put the vibrant fruit inside his pocket.

"today is the last day of the exam, we have to defeat the giant serpent before night come. Just like we discussed yesterday, Mei Lan will shoot the serpent's eyes to blind it. Xu Yanran and Ying Feng will hold the serpent tail down. Bai Zhi and i will attack the serpent", Yang Wei explained the strategy.
"That's it?....", Bai Zhi was unsure. ".... we will figure out the rest", Yang Wei answered. "(so irresponsible)", all of them thought.
They approach the lake. The lake itself was quiet. Just like Ying Feng told, there's a small land in the middle of the lake with a single dark red camellia growing on in. No beast dared to approach this lake knowing it was the giant serpent territory. Yang Wei went closer. He directed his thunder power in the lake to awaken the serpent. Few moments later, the ground began to shake. A large snake with horn emerge from the water surface. He dash towards Yang Wei but before he can get any close, his eyes get shot by Mei Lan at one eye. He shake his head trying to get rid of the arrow but got shot at the second eyes instead.
"Now!", When Yang Wei shout, Ying Feng used his vines to tied the serpent movement while Xu Yanran used her wind to stopped any water attack from the serpent. Yang Wei and Bai Zhi continously attacking the serpent from the front. The serpent become more and more agitated and attacking anywhere else with his sharp fangs. Bai Zhi fallen from serpent's head. Yang Wei got careless and shout when Bai Zhi fall down.
The serpent knew Yang Wei position and devour Yang Wei. All of them panicked when Yang Wei was inside the serpent mouth. Bai Zhi cut some Ying Feng's vines and use it to strangle the serpent throat so it won't consume Yang Wei. The serpent's scales are thick, it's not easy to strangle him. He keep strangle him until his hand bleed. The serpent twist it's body to escape Bai Zhi clutch.
Suddenly the serpent movement stopped. "w-what happen?", Bai Zhi confused. The serpent vomit Yang Wei out. Yang Wei coughed. The serpent suddenly fall down and went limp. Few moments later, the serpent stop moving completely. "What happen?!", Bai Zhi were confused.
Yang Wei stand up, "That vibrant poisonous fruit... i put it in my pocket...". "So that's how it is- NO! You make me worried! i thought you got swallowed up by this serpent", Bai Zhi hit Yang Wei shoulder several times.
"well.... thanks to you i didn't get swallowed up, good job trying to strangle him". Bai Zhi got bashful from the compliment and walk away. Ying Feng, Xu Yanran, and Mei Lan run towards Yang Wei to check his condition.
"are You okay?!", Ying Feng ask in concern. "I'm okay", Yang Wei take a glance at the serpent dead body. "He's strong...", Yang Wei muttered as he saw strangle mark at the serpent. Serpent scale is thick, almost no weapon can scratch it. But Bai Zhi can leave strangle mark on the serpent body. Not only that, Ying Feng vines that he used didn't snap at all.
"(compared to me, he lost in physical strength. But if he used stealth attack....)"

"Yang Luo... are you okay? you look pale", Gao Jun ask concerned. "Master... my heart almost stopped after seeing Yang Wei almost got swallowed up", Yang Luoya hand's trembled. ".... you should check on him later"
