That was the end of T2, as I didn't get Expelled and managed to somehow help my way towards 4th position and barely passed the exam.
Now I'm out with the main heroine of The comic I read Noelle William. And we are out having a dinner date together.
Well, it's more of a friends gathering. Since honestly while she likes the MC she doesn't know anything other than that.
So she's probably clueless about these stuff and I'm pretty sure she means nothing by this. She's just lonely without the MC and that's why she called me.
"So, I never thought that you were that gloomy kid next door from mine. You have changed or rather your personality has changed."
"What can I say, people mature with time. And so did I. What about you though? You seem to be quite cheeky when compared to the hard working and cool women I always knew."
"Am I supposed to take that as a compliment or what?"
She's surprisingly friendly, does it have something to do with the heartbreak?
Well she was always clingy towards the MC so it's understandable that I don't know much about her personality or how she acts around other people.
But, are people supposed to be this friendly towards strangers?
"Hey, I wanted to ask you something."
"Huh? What?"
"You know like, why are you so friendly with me? You never seem like the type to be sociable."
"What? Ofcourse I'm sociable, I can make a 100 friends without even trying. That's quite offensive."
"A person who can make 100 friends doesn't say that they can make 100 friends..."
"Ugh.. how would you know, it's not like you have any friends."
"What? Ofcourse I do... I have... Well I have a lot back in my hometown."
"Haha, you seem to be forgetting that I live in the same hometown and you barely came out of your house. I've tried many times to talk to you but you always gave me the cold shoulder."
"Huh? I did haa? I'm sorry about that. I was quite immature back than, I thought that having people around was nothing more than a burden."
"Hmm, that's some A rate Chunnebyo type shit... What an edgy guy you are... Maybe I should have picked better friends..."
She said with a look of disgust.
"I... I'm not longer that kind of a guy, It was just my past self that thought that way."
I said as I was flustered seeing her get disgusted by me...
"Pfft... Hahaha, I'm just joking. You don't have to get so serious, don't worry Lil brother I won't leave you... Pfft... Haha."
"Can you please stop laughing."
She really is a pain in the ass...
"Anyway, thanks."
She thanked me out of nowhere and I was taken aback.
"For what?"
"Haa... Thanks for helping me out there at the tournament, if it weren't for you... I don't know what my parents could have done. Even though they didn't show it, they were quite pressured weren't they. I talked to them yesterday about the debt and they came clean."
She pushed her chair back and bowed down. She was still sitting on the chair.
"Thank you, if it weren't for you I'd have never known how dependent my parents were on me. If something happened to them... What would I do without them."
She said with a helpless expression, not knowing what to do.
I just patted her head
"It's alright, they are my neighbours too. Also, it'd be a waste to let someone of your calibre not take the top spot."
She seemed surprised at what I said and asked.
"Top spot? You do realise that only 1% of humans until now has gotten into the latter half of the academy's tournaments right?"
"And? Is there a problem to dream higher? Because I'm going to be there with you. I don't intend to just get to the top 40000, I intend to take it all."
"Yes, that was always my intent, I'll try reaching the top 100 and if I do I might aswell take it all."
"For someone who's quite weaker than me, you sure do dream big don't you?"
"Well I may be weaker than you now, but I'll take your top seat by the end of the 5 years so u'd better be ready."
"I mean, your rank is 59921 and My rank is 51221. It's great that we are dreaming big but maybe for now we should pipe it down a notch. No?"
"Why? If anyone is capable of getting there, it's you. Someone who's worked hard enough to be this strong. And I think you'll get better. There's no way someone as hard working as you wouldn't."
"I've been trying to take this all for a while but can you seriously stop with the compliments, it's making me uncomfortable."
"Ooh sorry..."
I was just genuinely trying to tell her that she can do it, I guess it came out that way. If only she didn't confess to the MC, he'd probably tell her the same thing.
Guess coming from someone like me, it might make them uncomfortable.
"Wait... I didn't mean it like that, it's just embarrassing to hear so many compliments."
Aah so she's weak to compliments, Guess I was worried for nothing...
"Let's do this, you and me. Let's make a bet that whoever get's the top spot will fulfill a wish of the other."
"Wish?"
"Just for motivation purposes, if you don't like it we can do another bet. Something that will motivate you into being no 1."
She closed her eyes, As she put her finger on her chin while deep in thought, she than soon opened her eyes and Said
"If I reach the top than I'll confess to the man I love."
"That's enough to motivate you?"
"For now I guess. I can't think of anything else that can motivate me."
"Hmm, than if I reach the top spot. Than I'll go and fight the demon Lord and beat his ass to a pulp."
"Haa? That's dangerous you know, even if you reach the top, that doesn't mean you can fight a person like that. I heard cracks appear just from him shaking his hands."
"Well, I have to reach the top for that thought right? Do you actually believe that I can get the top spot."
"Hmm, Maybe."
"Wha?"
I was taken aback that she thought I could reach the top spot.
"Or maybe not."
"Youuuu."
"Ahaha."
...
We were done eating and we left the Restraunt and headed for our dorms.
Her dorm was quite far away so I offered to walk her to her dorm.
She seemed a bit sceptical but I told her I'd go back once she was close enough to her dorms.
"This should be far enough."
"Well, let's meet again if we ever find the chance. It was nice knowing you."
"Why are you acting like this is a farewell scene or something?"
"I don't know if we'll ever meet again or not. So just to be sure I want to say my goodbyes."
"Are you going to ignore my calls or something?"
"Hmm... No. Why do you ask?"
"Well than there should be no problem right? Because I'm taking you to a restaurant atleast once a week."
"Wait I don't have that much money on me."
"You think you'll be the only one paying? Ofcourse not, we aren't a couple and also I'm dragging you out so technically I should be paying but I don't have that much money either so let's just take turns how about that?"
"Well that sounds good. I'll see you next week than."
"You are in the swordsmanship class right?"
"Yes, I am."
"Well than well probably get to meet every day since I too take the swordsmanship class."
Now that I think about it, she does take the swordsmanship class doesn't she.
"Well than I'll see you tomorrow than."
"See you tomorrow."
As we were about to part ways, I called out to her again.
"Hey Noelle"
"Mhm?"
"I had fun."
The moment I said that, her smile brightened as she smirked like she heard something amusing. With a bright smile she replied.
"I'm glad you did."
Seeing her bright smile, my heart started beating fast as I thought...
No wonder she's the Most popular Heroine in the Comic.
It's too bad it wasn't a date.
