Chapter 1: A Blessing or a Curse

Friday Morning

Bright, rich sunlight streamed through the window curtains. I finally opened my eyes, stretched my arms, and walked towards the window. Sliding it open, I looked down from the balcony on the second floor.

Ding!!

[Make a choice]

[Jump from the second floor]

[Rewards: +2 Strength]

[Don't jump off]

[Kiss the next girl you see]

[Rewards: +2 Charm]

"Why did I even come here?" I muttered, before deciding to jump from the second floor. I landed hard on the ground, bracing myself with my arms, but blood still seeped from my injuries.

"Motherfucker! This system—why did I get it? Is it a blessing or a curse?" I groaned. "It might just kill me one day."

You might be wondering how I got this system and who I am. Let me explain.

The Previous Day

Afternoon at School

I'm not too tall, nor too short—exactly six feet. Wearing the standard high school uniform, I walked toward my classes. My face wasn't particularly attractive or ugly; I wore no accessories. I was just an average student—or so it seemed. No one would believe that I had just taken down a group of bullies.

"Why can't you believe he's the MC?" someone might ask.

Just an hour ago, as I walked towards the bathroom, I heard someone say, "Finally, someone came."

Inside, a group of six bullies confronted me.

"Oi, kid! Come here, take off your clothes, and dance in front of the camera."

"No," was my only reply. They began to beat me.

I didn't try to escape. When I turned around, I saw a muscular guy with a scary face—he looked like a 25-year-old man, but I knew him as Joru Karn, one of the strongest guys in school.

I tried to fight back, throwing a punch at him, but he barely flinched as he absorbed the blow. Then, the bullies and Joru continued to beat me.

Ding!!

A notification appeared.

"Fuck," I exclaimed in shock. "Did I just get a system like that, just for getting beaten? Isn't it too easy?"

I decided to choose Option 1.
