Chapter 1

"10 million dollars"

"25 million dollars"

"60 million dollars"

"1 billion dollars"

The auction hall became utterly silent as all gazes fell to the room above them and almost immediately, little whispers could be heard

"1 billion dollars!"

"who is crazy to spend 1 billion dollars on the heavenly Jade?!"

"Isn't the heavenly jade just a myth? It is not yet confirmed to actually resurrect a person!"

"isn't 1 billion dollars too much?"

Ye Jin smirked. Her long black hair cascaded down her shoulders, her green eyes filled with excitement and disdain.

'Ignorant fools!' She thought

But how could she blame them for their ignorance? Only those who knew the true worth of thing would be willing to expend to obtain such thing and the true worth of this mere jade was known to a few and she was one of those few.

The only reason she knew the true worth of this jade was because of her father, Ye Juan. Her father was one of the richest men in the world, worth billions of dollars, he was also the leader of the underworld and one of the previous owners of the heavenly jade. Her father had however retired 5 years ago and gone to the country side, leaving the whole of Ye Empire, both good and evil, in her hands.

Ye Juan had lived two lives, both of which he died tragically. His current life was his third and last life. His third life was anything but smooth and peaceful. In this life, his lover died, his adoptive family died trying to save him and most of his friends either died or left him due to the fear of dying.

At the end, he was once again the only one left.

Believing the heavenly Jade was the cause of his constantly tragic lives, he threw it into the sea out of anger. Since then, people have searched far and wide trying to retrieve it.

The heavenly jade was a mythical item said to give its owner 3 lives. Now that it was finally found, what was a billion dollars compared to having a chance to another life after death?

" One billion dollars! Does anyone wish to raise a higher bid? do not forget that this item is said to give its owner three lives!" the auctioneer said with confidence and ease in order to lure the elites present in the auction to raise a higher bid. However, the room was filled with silence, much to the auctioneer expectations. He even did not anticipate a bid of a billion dollars so that was quite a shock to him.

" One billion dollars going….going….sold!"

10 minutes later, there was a knock on the door of the room above. A man in black suit opened the door in his hand was a exquisitely carved golden box. Ye jin nodded at the man standing beside her ,clad in black and armed signaling that he should collect the box.

The man took the box and handed it over to Ye Jin. She took the box and held it like her life depended on it. Then she slowly opened it. In the box was a small plain jade. Ye jin took the jade, scrutinizing it" it is quite different from what I expected. It looks so plain for a mythical object"

She sighed and placed the jade back into the box, closing it. She really hoped she hadn't been scammed if not it seemed a few more heads would have to roll.

Well, she would just ask father when she goes visiting.

Ye jin stood up and left the hall, two men walking behind her. She had already gotten what she wanted, there was no point staying back. Besides, she knew that because of the fame of the heavenly jade some persons may decide to kill her in order to steal the jade from her. But she was well prepared her self, that's why she brought her finest of men. Keith, the man currently guarding her and Shen Xue , the driver who opened the door of the no name car she entered. She really hoped that the car would be able to deceive the thieves who wished to come after her.

The night was shrouded in darkness, and the air was filled with tension as the car raced through the empty streets. In the passenger seathe laid the Heavenly Jade lay in a velvet-lined case. The ride was suspiciously peaceful as they had been on the road for more than 10 minutes with no attack.

Suddenly, ominous headlights loomed in the rearview mirror. Two black cars tailing the car, closing in like ravenous wolves. Their tires screeched, and their blinding headlights threatened to swallow her.

"Tsk," she muttered, annoyance welling up. While she'd anticipated pursuit, a part of her longed for a peaceful night – to be at home, soaking in her jacuzzi, sipping Boba tea, and that wish looked it was about to be fulfilled but god just had to play with her feelings.

Bang, bang!

Two shots pierced the air, jolting the car.

Shen Xue's grip on the steering wheel tightened, his knuckles paling. He knew he had one job: keep Ye Jin alive. She had entrusted him with it.

Beside him was Keith who clunged to his seat, his eyes locked on the pursuers, a plan forming in his mind.

Without a moment's hesitation, Ye Jin reached beneath her seat, retrieving her custom-made pink IWI Negev NG7, Cherry. She opened the sunroof , balanced the gun and began firing rapidly at the tailing cars. Meanwhile, Keith aimed at their tires, attempting to slow them down, aware that reinforcements were minutes away.

Out of the smoke, four more cars joined the chase, and the deafening gunfire filled the night, muzzle flashes lighting up the darkness. Bullets whizzed through the air, shattering glass and turning the quiet night into a night filled with chaos.

Amidst the chaos, a shot rang out, and Shen Xue fell forward, a bullet wound to the head, his eyes widened in surprised and agony.

A sniper!

Ye Jin's iris shrinked in fear.

she had anticipated a sniper and that's why she made sure the windshield was bullet proof so how?

She stared at Shen Xue who had died instantly. She felt a painful grip in her heart. She had known him for 16 years.

A tear traced her cheek. She now had no chance to confess her true feelings

Suddenly, the car jerked out of control, hurtling toward disaster. With a deafening impact, their car collided with another vehicle. Metal screeched, glass shattered, and the world spun in a dizzying blur.

"Ye jin!!!" Keith screamed as the impact threw Ye Jin against the window, darkness closing in. In her final moments, the world became a hazy dream. She saw Keith who had survived the impact shouting her name as torrents of tears poured down his cheeks. She really wished she could hold his cheeks and gently wipe his tears telling him not to cry that she still had more lives ahead of her. Her thoughts raced to Ye Juan, her father who had lost everything and was about to lose her also

'I hope he lives well.'
