"Fuck," Ye Jin muttered angrily as she paced across the room, her fingers tapping in frustration against her arm.
They had been attacked by some unknown men, and worse, they had lost the second prince. So close, and yet he'd slipped through their grasp. She was so sure that today's mission was going to be successful, but it seemed she was proved wrong.
Sensing her agitation, Xi Ming offered a gentle smile, grabbing her hand to stop her pacing. "Ye Jin, don't worry," he said, his voice calm, soothing. "I sent one of my best shadow guards after him."
Ye Jin looked at him, her expression still tense. She would have preferred to go herself because there were some things that were not visible to the naked eye.
Xi Ming, sensing her tension, squeezed her hand gently. "Jin-er, do not worry. I promise you that everything will be fine, and you will get the answers you are searching for."
