The carriage halted in front of a large gate, which opened wide as the gatekeeper shouted, "Miss is back!"
Ye Jin sighed, knowing what was about to come. Before she had completely stepped out of the carriage, her parents, Ye Ruan and Su Hao, had already rushed out of the gate, pulling her into a tight hug.
"I thought you would never come home!" Su Hao said, a bit scoldingly.
Ye Jin laughed. Ever since she had moved to the capital, the number of times she had met her parents could be counted on one hand. This was because of how busy she was and the fact that she knew they were not truly her parents—their love wasn't meant for her but for another. She hadn't planned on coming back anytime soon, if not for the letter informing her of a marriage she didn't want.
"We missed you, Xiao Jin," Ye Ruan said, then asked, "I hope you're going to stay here for a long time because we have a lot to catch up on."
