Su Lie sat cross-legged in his room, his facial expression kept changing from a neutral look to a pained, teeth crunching experience every few seconds. He was very deep in focus, seemingly away from the world.

He kept uttering 'fiery heart, great Buddha, remove distraught.'

This chant helped him keep concentration while cultivating. While telling himself that he would only keep the chant to calm himself, he accidentally went full on cultivation mode.

The cultivation method he used was one he found from a not too popular cultivation light novel. This method was used to take spiritual energy from the environment and inject it into the dantian, it completely ignored the other points (meridians) and went straight for the dantian and injected the collected spiritual energy into it.

This was the reason why his face contorted after few seconds, Su Lie had promised himself that he would only recite the chant but unexpectedly he began cultivating with it.

It was a wonder why his dantian didn't explode after he started or his body popped like a balloon a few seconds after he started. This assertion was that he was actually using a real cultivation technique.

An hour later Su Lie woke up, his body looking like it had been sprayed with sticky liquids. He stared at his body for a few minutes and tried to recall what he was doing.

A look of horror crept unto his face as he realized what he had done, he had just cultivated with a technique from a lightnovel, a damn lightnovel not even a manga or an anime but a f*cking lightnovel.

Suddenly a smell crept up his nose, he rushed towards the window in a split-second and opened it. The smell was so pungent he wanted to faint, what could...

'Must be nothing important.' He mused after he had discovered what made the smell.

Something caught his vision, a blue nail icon was at the corner of the vision.

"I must be hallucinating, an after effect of cultivating with this technique? It has been a decade at least the last time I saw an email so this is a pleasant surprise though." Su Lie admitted.

Nevertheless he wiped his face with his sweat soaked hand, the feeling wasn't pleasant – one disgusting object trying to clean another substance but just brought the disgusting feeling to another object.

"This is strange, was the effects really that bad?" Su Lie was beginning to have fourth thoughts from cultivating with the technique in which he didn't even remember its name.

It was not actually his intention to use this technique as it could've had done permanent damage to his dantian or popped him like a balloon.

"It should be okay if I click it, it might go away." He reasoned.

He mentally clicked the icon in front of him, after a few seconds nothing happened and Su Lie was about to lie down, however he felt pain in the very next instant. It felt like thousands of needles were pricking his brain, driving him down the path of insanity.

He bit down on his lips so that he wouldn't scream, it added to the pain but stopped him from screaming like a madman. As a cultivator he still had his pride, he had spent several years in this world, and his already molded mind added a bit of molding clay on top of it so the world could shape its ideal into his mind.

A few moments later the pain stopped and everything he felt was suddenly gone in an instinct, the only pain left was the slight sting from his bleeding lips.

He heard the sound of a PC booting up and wondered if this cultivation technique had done a number on his mind, so bad that he started remembering the little moments in past life.

He paused and then blinked yet again, weren't these words not only the ones his english teacher used! Since when did he become so accustomed to such jaw-breaking grammar.

The message shown once more, this time it seemed to Su Lie like he could make a little more sense out of it unlike last time.

He mentally clicked on yes, the tab disappeared and another tab popped up, except this one had a long list of things. Su Lie couldn't make heads or toes neither kidney of what he was seeing so he was puzzled once more.

Even though Su Lie was raised in a cultivation world, the items for cultivation had seen would be called bland because of this.

After a few minutes he could finally discern what this meant. These things were the combination of cultivation techniques, cultivation manuals and cultivation pills and potions.

But thinking back on it the other "system" was more of a status page than a system.
