## Chapter 9: The Bloodstained Idol Murder Case

**Tokyo Metropolitan Area, in a high-rise apartment building in a bustling commercial district.**

Ran stood by the window in the corridor on the twenty-fifth floor, overlooking the neon-lit Tokyo skyline. She couldn't help but exclaim, "The view here is really nice."

Turning around, she smiled lightly at Fujino and asked, "Isn't it, Fujino-senpai?"

"Yes, it is."

Fujino responded, his mind racing with thoughts.

The view here was indeed spectacular, offering a nearly panoramic view of the neon-lit city.

The dazzling Tokyo lights in the night, the endless stream of lights on the streets below.

It was certainly a unique and enchanting sight.

However, the value of this view was also substantial.

As Fujino knew, a twenty-fifth floor apartment like this one in the city center would start at one hundred million yen, a true residence for the elite of Tokyo.

Such a view might be something a regular person could never enjoy even after a lifetime of effort.

Actually, Ran's house wasn't bad either; her small building's starting price was fifty million yen.

In fact, Ran could be considered quite wealthy.

"Ah!"

At this moment, Yoko Okino, who had just opened the door, suddenly let out a scream.

Accompanied by that scream, a system prompt echoed in Fujino's ears: "New Detective Job Task detected, please check!"

Subsequently, a light screen appeared before Fujino:

**[Detective Job Task: Bloodstained Idol Case.

Objective: Solve the Bloodstained Idol Murder Case.

Task time limit: three hours.

System task reward: fifty thousand yen.]**

So, this case had happened after all?

Fujino stood still, squinting slightly, and sighed.

He quickly approached Yoko Okino and looked into the room.

Sure enough, a murder had just occurred here.

A fat man lay dead in Yoko Okino's home.

The body was sprawled on the dimly lit room's floor, a fruit knife wound in the back oozing a large amount of blood, staining the surrounding carpet and seeping into the floorboards.

Looking at the man's body, Fujino mused: Now this apartment is worthless.

Beika Town had a peculiar characteristic—houses where someone had died usually depreciated, while those without any deaths saw their prices soar.

He wondered if this apartment was rented or owned by Yoko Okino.

If it was rented, the landlord might feel like committing suicide out of frustration.

As Fujino surveyed the room with the man's body, everyone else had horrified expressions, while Fujino still had the mood to joke about Beika Town's real estate prices.

"Ran, call the police!"

Putting away his thoughts, Fujino instinctively called out to his usual go-to for calling the police, Ran.

But on second thought, he called her back: "Never mind, Ran."

"What's wrong, Fujino-senpai?" Ran, who was about to run off to call the police, stopped and turned back, looking puzzled.

"Actually, I brought my mobile phone..."

Scratching his head awkwardly, Fujino pulled out his mobile phone from his pocket.

"Mobile phone?"

Ran curiously glanced at Fujino's phone but didn't find anything unusual, only asking, "Is it the latest release?"

"Yes, but it hasn't been released yet. It's just something a client gave me to test."

Fujino explained, about to dial the police, thinking it was time for Ran, the professional police caller, to take a break.

However, the manager nearby couldn't sit still.

"Wait, Detective Fujino! If possible, please investigate this matter secretly!"

The manager, after glancing at the horrified Yoko Okino, quickly grabbed Fujino's hand and explained, "If this gets out, it would damage Yoko's reputation!"

"Huh?"

Fujino frowned, looking at the manager as if he were a fool, "So, you want me to investigate this matter secretly?"

"Exactly!"

The manager nodded quickly, "If possible, that would be best."

"In that case, let's talk about the commission fee."

Fujino chuckled, playing with the idea, "How much are you offering? A million, ten million, or maybe a hundred million?"

"Huh?"

The manager was stunned, "Isn't ten million a bit too much?"

"You really are an idiot!"

Fujino grabbed the manager by the collar, his dark eyes staring into his, and scolded, "Do you think an idol's reputation is more important than a human life?!"

"It's not like that..."

The manager, terrified by Fujino's demeanor, hurriedly waved his hand.

"Detective Fujino!"

At this moment, Yoko Okino, having regained her composure, spoke up, "Please call the police!"

"Since Miss Yoko said so, unless you have any objections, step aside and don't obstruct my investigation!"

Fujino pushed the manager aside.

What a mess.

A manager, less sensible than the idol herself.

Fujino silently criticized in his heart, turned around, and dialed the police.

After explaining the situation, he pulled out white gloves from his pocket, put them on, and entered the crime scene.

But just then, a figure darted past him like a big black rat, heading straight for the body.

It was none other than Conan!

Seeing Conan darting like a big black rat, Fujino frowned.

He quickly stepped forward, picked him up, and said, "Conan-kun, the crime scene is not a place for kids to wander around!"

"Hahaha..."

Scratching the back of his head awkwardly, Conan laughed, "I was just curious about the crime scene..."

"Curious, huh~"

Fujino chuckled, squinting his eyes meaningfully.

Then he called out to Ran outside the room: "Ran, keep an eye on this curious little one... Seriously, a child wandering around a corpse, what a sight."

"Yes, Fujino-senpai!"

Ran immediately pulled Conan out of the room.

In the hallway, she scolded Conan in a tone fit for a senior, "Conan! Didn't we agree not to disturb Fujino-senpai at work?"

"You really are a naughty kid!"

"Sorry, Ran-neesan!"

Conan, looking all meek and apologetic, resembled a child being scolded by a senior.

Seeing this, Fujino felt much better.

He turned around, closed the door, and entered the crime scene.

Meanwhile, Conan gave Fujino a resentful look.

Like a little vengeful wife.

At the same time, he silently cursed in his heart: This guy, using Ran against me!

"Conan, did you hear me?"

Ran, seeing Conan absent-minded during the scolding, yelled, rolling up her sleeves and raising her small fist.

Conan froze, looking at Ran's rolled-up sleeves, and replied sheepishly, "I heard you, Ran-neesan."
