### Chapter 105: Avalanche Encounter

Fujino observed the severely injured and unconscious man before him, lost in thought.

If he recalled correctly, this man should be one of the most tragic characters in *Detective Conan*, Yamato Gantetsu.

Yamato Gantetsu, a police officer from Nagano Prefecture, happened to discover a suspect and pursued him into the snow-covered mountains. During this pursuit, an avalanche struck, causing him to fall into unconsciousness. When he finally woke, he found himself disabled, having lost sight in his left eye and with a crippled left leg.

Not only had he become disabled, but his childhood sweetheart, who thought he was dead, had married someone else during his coma.

Fujino remembered feeling immense anger toward the author for this storyline in his previous life as a pure-hearted warrior.

"If I were in his shoes, I'd probably be contemplating suicide..."

Reflecting on the tragic fate of Yamato Gantetsu, Fujino sighed softly. Fortunately, this tragedy hadn't happened yet. Since the avalanche had led him here, perhaps he could intervene and prevent this disaster from unfolding.

Given that the avalanche was the root cause of everything, he decided to nip this tragedy in the bud.

Fujino retrieved a first aid kit from his personal space and began treating Yamato Gantetsu.

Putting on medical gloves, he opened the bloody eyelid to reveal a damaged eyeball with noticeable scratches.

"The eyeball is damaged... It seems the lens is also affected."

Fujino frowned as he examined the eye injury. Damage to the lens would likely lead to vision loss, especially given the medical standards of this time. So, Gantetsu's eye was probably going to be permanently blind.

Taking a deep breath, Fujino recalled the first aid knowledge from his mind.

He quickly found the corresponding treatment method:

[Eye Injury: Do not use liquids to wash. Use a cotton swab to gently wipe away blood and debris, then bandage it.]

With the method in mind, Fujino took out saline and cotton swabs from the medical kit. His medical kit, prepared after acquiring the medical profession, included even an antidote for cyanide poisoning, among other supplies.

After cleaning the damaged eyeball with saline and cotton swabs, Fujino used his magnifying visual enhancement glasses to inspect the wound. Once he confirmed that no foreign debris remained, he bandaged the eye.

Next, Fujino turned his attention to Gantetsu's leg. After examining it, he found multiple fractures in the left leg, both in the calf and thigh.

If he was correct, these fractures were likely caused by the avalanche hurling his body against a tree.

Fortunately, although there were several fractures, the bones hadn't shifted significantly, avoiding severe arterial bleeding.

Confirming that the injury was within his capability to handle, Fujino realigned the fractured bones to their original positions.

After cleaning the wounds with iodine, he took out some splints and cut branches from a nearby tree to secure the broken leg.

The purpose was to prevent the bones from shifting during transport, which could lead to further injury and rupture of blood vessels.

[Detected: Host is performing first aid, treatment effect increased by 100%]

"This should be good for now."

After completing the first aid measures, Fujino sat down in the snow. There was nothing more he could do at this stage.

Further treatment required a well-equipped medical facility.

[Detected: Host successfully rescued a critically injured patient. System reward: 50 points in Doctor Profession Skill]

[Detected: Host has completed the Doctor Profession Task: Rescue the Stranded Man]

[Task Reward: 500,000 yen, 50 points in Doctor Profession Skill have been awarded]

[Current Balance: 700,000 yen]

[Current Doctor Profession: Intermediate (100-300)]

"Ha..."

As the system notifications rang in his ears, Fujino let out a sigh of relief. Since the system deemed the task complete, further first aid efforts were unnecessary.

"New Detective Profession Task detected. Please check."

Just as Fujino relaxed and was about to stretch, another system prompt sounded in his ear.

A screen appeared before him:

[Detective Profession Task: Capture the Fugitive

Objective: Capture the fugitive on the snow-covered mountain

Task Reward: 500,000 yen, 100 points in Detective Reputation]

"A fugitive? This should be the guy Yamato Gantetsu was chasing up the mountain," Fujino speculated, examining the task details.

Suddenly, hurried footsteps approached from behind.

Fujino turned to see a man holding a stone charging at him.

Reacting quickly, Fujino dodged the man's stone attack with a roll.

As he stood up from the snow, Fujino focused on the man who had just attacked him. The man, dressed in a black coat and jeans, with a fierce appearance and a bulky build, seemed like he would have seriously injured anyone else with that blow.

Fujino's eyes grew colder as he thought about this.

The man, still stunned by Fujino's appearance, saw him dressed in a white robe with a hood casting a dark, eerie shadow.

What the hell?

The man stared at the mysterious figure in confusion.

Before he could react, Fujino threw a bat-shaped shuriken from his personal space. It struck the man's abdomen, causing him to lose consciousness instantly.

"This guy must be the fugitive mentioned in the system task," Fujino muttered as he walked over to the unconscious man and kicked him roughly.
