Limited Time Mode: Total War

As he did this, the drones then acted on their own accord, buzzing around in the skies as they scanned the surroundings.

Many other warriors that remained back had panels open, showcasing maps of the surrounding area. Their personal drones were relaying information back to them, and they would use this information to help the other exosuit warriors that were up at the frontlines.

Lazarro's face fell still as he saw how basic and empty his relayed map was. It didn't give him a very impressive range, but he looked intently at the map's centre. There were three beeping blue dots, which represented the drone's locations on the battlefield.

Compared to the allied drones that were also seen in the map, his drones moved in a quicker, more agile fashion.

As these waves of drones advanced, the enemy team's wave of drones were also visible. They started to appear on the drone operators' maps as beeping red dots, and many warriors retreated to the buildings behind them.

"Alright, we're going to get the DEWs up and running." A female exosuit warrior said to Lazarro as she retreated.

Lazarro always liked people that took the mode serious. He never saw this game as, well, a game but instead a way to improve his skills. Even if it was just a way to have fun, he found the game way more fun when he tried to immerse himself into the atmosphere, the battle.

DEW stood for directed energy weapon, and were devices used to disrupt the radio frequencies of enemy drones. Luckily, many of their own drones were out of range of these weapons and with their impressive precision, they could attack a very specific area and leave drones outside such zone unharmed.

The light buzzing of these enemy drones was soon heard as they advanced, and Lazarro decided to retreat himself.

He didn't like to fight on the backend, but he just wanted to see how people would operate on this side of the battlefield. Maybe, he would learn something and become a more adept warrior.

There were several projections, which were black in colour and had a colour scheme of mainly black and green.

"DEWs active and ready to go." The same girl said from outside, intensely looking between the panels that surrounded her.

Ahead of them was a pane of glass, so they could get a decent view of the surrounding forest and also the incoming drones in the distance.

As a drone approached the base, it started to jitter and malfunction. It then started swaying from side to side as if it had no sense of direction, before falling from the skies.

It had been directed forward in its fall, and landed near the base that it was attempting to search for.

A warrior that remained outside the base, manning an artillery weapon, viciously stood on the drone to turn it into a pile of scrap metal.

As he did this, the drone turned into blue energy particles and vanished, before he then returned to his own artillery weaponry.

*BEEP*

Lazarro heard a beep from his exosuit and immediately lifted his left forearm to look at his drone's created map. He gasped upon looking at the information relayed to him.

They had approached the enemy base and seemed to be receiving enemy fire.

He could see them flying side to side with immense liveliness to try and remain unscathed, and they were doing a decent job.

As for the other drones, they relied more on their armour and were taking more hits but they could only take so much before being destroyed.

"Wait, they're still up and running?" He thought, upon watching the drone's energetically flying from side to side.

They were evading enemy attacks with great skill, and Lazarro couldn't help but rush forward. His itch to get into the battlefield was too great, and he charged through the trees swiftly.

His exosuit granted him great speed, and he continued sprinting forward with a large smile on his face as he viewed the map of the battlefield once again. His drones were starting to get a better view of the enemy base, and he then relayed this information on to as many other members of his team as he could.

Ezekiel wielded an energy blade in his right hand, and was clad from head to toe in his exosuit. The blade was a glistening silver, but had a sizzling orange edge that made it very deadly.

He whipped and threw around the blade, trying to take down a slimmer exosuit of the enemy team. However, he was quicker than him and could use his smaller size and nimble size to evade his attacks.

He swung down his energy blade with a grunt, only to hit the ground.

The mud sizzled and smoked as the edge of his blade contacted it, and his enemy waited patiently for his next move. His exosuit was totally black and had no glowing parts to it whatsoever. It gave the technology a dark, menacing appearance but Ezekiel couldn't care less.

His opponent was fighting in a very defensive way, so how could he fear a man that cowered away from a battle?

As the warrior remained still, Preston's gorilla bot leaped up to his head from beside him. Before he even had a chance to react, the bot punched him with its large fist right in his helmet.

It cracked his stained vice, while also knocking him right onto the ground.

He slid away and was sent rolling, then the gorilla came to a close and opened its mouth widely. Behind its metal set of sharp teeth was a barrel that then protruded out from its mouth.

It glowed a bright orange before firing out an explosive right at the fallen warrior. He was clearly stunned by that attack, as he struggled to even lift up onto his hands and feet.

This made him nothing but a sitting duck and as the explosive detonated, his armour had been destroyed and melted apart. His body enveloped in a blue energy and then vanished, when Preston then arrived by their side.

"Are you getting this? Lazarro's drones actually made it all the way to the enemy base and they're still alive. They're properly mapping out the place!" He announced, much to Ezekiel's suprise.

"So, let's go then!" He replied, whipping his blade into a reverse grip.

Now that the team were aware of the enemy's base, the frontlines condensed into a dense, intense group of advancing warriors. Lazarro soon caught up to the group that were soon met by the enemy team's artillery.

"Artillery!" One of their teammates roared, hiding behind a tree.

Lazarro's helmet formed over his head as he could see projectiles raining down on them.

"Get the defences up and running, Mike!" A blonde-haired girl shouted to one of her friends in the group.

A large metal battering ram hit the ground that then exploded outward and formed a wide, tall wall of tough metal. The metal even dug into the ground to give itself a sturdier base, and the many warriors prepared for the impact.

"Brace yourselves!" Somebody shouted, as the warriors roared in anticipation.

BOOM!

Explosives were sent off like fireworks around them, and the deafening noise made by these projectiles hitting these makeshift defensive walls made the hiding soldiers tremble.

Some of the projectiles managed to land over their defences, taking out those hit directly by them. The remaining warriors chose to scatter, and not get slaughtered by the onslaught of explosive shells.

Soon, the assault died down and came to a sudden stop. The forest was filled with nothing but the noise of vibrating exosuits.

Nothing else.

The warriors remained still but vigilant.

Seconds later, the silence was broken by the roars of incoming warriors, and these fighters all prepared themselves.

Preston's personal bot shot out an explosive projectile at the incoming group, but the warriors managed to evade so that they weren't hurt. It exploded behind them, and Ezekiel was the first to dash forward with a smile.

A bulky but chubby warrior with a dark red exosuit tried to take the ginger fighter down, but this task was easier said than done. They clashed together, but Ezekiel pulled back slightly and socked the man right in his face. Using his free hand, he revealed his glowing energy blade.

Even with his face covered by his exosuit, Ezekiel could tell that this man was a little perplexed by this weapon. He slashed through the armour of the exosuit with his sizzling hot blade, dropping the man and eliminating him.

"Come on then!" He roared, intensifying the fury of his fellow combatants.

A soldier lifted his forearm, which had a dock for special metal arrows. He placed 3 down and shot them out with immense speed by clenching his fist.

They landed on some of the enemies, breaking through their armour from how sharp the tip was.

He then docked explosive arrows, and some autonomous bots that were around them shot forward explosive material at the team.

This led the opposition to erect a large defensive wall of black metal. It was around 10 metres wide and 4 metres tall, with a slight curvature to it.

Seeing this, Ezekiel clicked a button on his right arm that then made the part of his exosuit in that area glow more brightly.

"Keep hiding behind that damn shield and see what'll happen to you!" Ezekiel roared, punching the wall right away.
