Kanae didn't ask Eriri whether she could cure the illness, as she believed Eriri was omnipotent. A simple illness like this wouldn't be a problem for her.
At the same time, Kanae's behavior of suddenly speaking to the air, along with her words, caught the attention of everyone present.
"Kanae, are you talking to someone?" Kagaya Ubuyashiki asked with a tone of anticipation.
Ever since Muzan Kibutsuji became a demon over a thousand years ago, the entire Ubuyashiki family seemed cursed. All the children born were sickly, especially the male offspring, who would pass away young.
Kagaya desperately hoped this curse that had plagued his family for over a thousand years could be lifted.
"Yes, my lord. It's related to the source of my power. I believe your illness will be cured soon."
As Kanae answered Kagaya's question, Eriri also responded in the chat group.
[Eriri (Level 8, Stage 5): Of course, no problem. It's just a small matter.]
Seeing Eriri's reply in the chat, Kanae sighed with relief, then happily turned to Kagaya.
"My lord, it seems your body will recover soon."
Upon hearing this, not only did Kagaya's heart stir, but all the other Hashira present grew excited.
"Kanae, are you serious? Can the lord's illness really be cured?"
Kanae smiled and nodded. Like the Hashira, she was also thrilled.
Kagaya was the soul of the Demon Slayer Corps, and every member held the utmost respect for him.
Perhaps to verify Kanae's words, a strange portal suddenly appeared in front of her. Everyone watched in amazement as a fair and delicate hand extended from the portal. The hand gently waved in Kagaya's direction, and a soft white light enveloped him.
The light lasted for less than a second, disappearing before anyone could react. The fair hand and the mysterious portal vanished just as quickly.
"My lord, are you alright?"
The Hashira, having regained their senses, rushed to Kagaya's side, all showing expressions of deep concern.
What followed left them overjoyed.
The rotting flesh on Kagaya's face began to heal rapidly, and within seconds, all signs of his disease were gone. His eyes, which had lost their light, regained their clarity.
Suddenly, a handsome face appeared before everyone.
"I'm fine. I feel better than ever, full of energy." Restored to full health, Kagaya once again saw the familiar faces of those around him. Seeing the excitement on their faces, Kagaya smiled warmly.
"Congratulations on your recovery, my lord. You don't need to worry about your descendants inheriting the illness either." Kanae said, pleased. When Eriri cured Kagaya, she had also erased the curse that had plagued his family for generations.
"Thank you, Kanae. Please express my deepest gratitude to the one who helped me." Kagaya bowed deeply before Kanae, holding the position for a long time.
Not only had his illness been cured, but the curse haunting his family for over a thousand years had been lifted. With Muzan about to be defeated, the long-held wish of his family was finally coming true. He felt that his life now had no regrets.
...
After resolving Kagaya's illness, Kanae left the Ubuyashiki estate and headed straight toward where Muzan Kibutsuji was hiding.
Once a group member reached Level 4, the chat group allowed them to fly without needing any specific skills. In Kanae's case, she quickly reached the city where Muzan was hiding.
Muzan had taken the form of a young girl to avoid Kanae's pursuit, hiding in a wealthy family's mansion. He had disguised himself as the young lady of the house.
Kanae landed quietly outside Muzan's room, deep within the estate. To avoid attracting attention, she immediately isolated the area, then boldly broke down the door and walked inside.
Sensing the intruder, a teenage girl stepped out from the depths of the room, her icy gaze fixed on the entrance.
Seeing Kanae, Muzan's disguised face turned pale, as if he had seen a terrifying ghost.
"Tsk tsk, Muzan. I already knew, but I still have to say, you have quite the unique taste. But no matter how much you try to look innocent, you won't escape death today."
Kanae looked Muzan up and down. He appeared to be a beautiful young girl with long black hair and delicate features. There wasn't a single trace of his demonic origins.
Meanwhile, the chat group members, watching the live stream, were also taken by surprise at Muzan's current form.
[Eriri (Level 8, Stage 5): I have to admit, Muzan makes a pretty cute girl. Though, of course, he's no match for me, but that's only to be expected.]
[Elaina (Level 3, Stage 9): I agree! He is kinda cute, but not nearly as cute as me. I mean, finding someone as adorable as me is pretty rare. Confident.jpg]
[Eriri (Level 8, Stage 5): Well, Elaina, you are pretty cute. I'd love to take a closer look sometime!]
[Elaina (Level 3, Stage 9): Anytime! But really, Eriri, your cuteness is on a whole different level. Comparing you to Muzan is just insulting.]
[Arifureta (Level 4, Stage 2/Group Leader): …]
[Kanae Kocho (Level 4, Stage 1): …]
Ignoring the back-and-forth compliments between Eriri and Elaina, Kanae refocused her attention on Muzan.
A few days ago, she had wiped out all of the Twelve Kizuki, from the Lower Moons to the Upper Moons, in one hit each.
Through the deaths of the Twelve Kizuki, Muzan had deeply ingrained Kanae's appearance in his mind.
From that moment, his fear of her far surpassed the terror he once had for Yoriichi Tsugikuni.
"Demon Slayer Corps... How did you find me?" Muzan's face showed terror. He could feel the overwhelming power radiating from Kanae, and it filled him with dread.
At the same time, he was baffled. He had always taken pride in his ability to hide, which had allowed him to evade Yoriichi for years.
He had hoped to stay hidden for another hundred years, just like he did with Yoriichi, planning to reemerge after Kanae had passed away from old age. Then, he could reign supreme once again.
But there was no time to dwell on that. His only thought now was to escape with his life.
However, Kanae had become far stronger than Muzan. To prevent any unnecessary complications, Kanae unleashed her full power, suppressing Muzan with an overwhelming force, leaving him no room to resist.
"I've prepared a special gift for you. I hope you like it."
Kanae retrieved a teapot from her storage space, filled with a concoction made from Wisteria flower poison.
Sensing the ominous energy from the pot, Muzan's eyes widened in horror as he struggled violently, but it was all in vain.
"No, you can't do this!"
Ignoring his desperate pleas, Kanae forced his mouth open and poured the Wisteria tea down his throat. His eyes filled with terror as the poison seeped into his body.
In an instant, the youthful female form of Muzan dissolved, revealing his true monstrous appearance. His skin began to rot and slough off, unable to heal as it usually did.
"AAAAHHH!"
Muzan's screams echoed through the room, filled with unimaginable agony.
However, as the poison in his body ran out, his regenerative abilities kicked back in, and his form slowly returned to normal, though much weaker than before.
"Not bad. You survived."
Muzan glared at Kanae, filled with hatred, though he said nothing.
His mind was already filled with despair. He had tried using his ability to split himself into 1,800 pieces to escape, but his body didn't even respond. He couldn't even split into two, much less 1,800.
He knew there was no escape today.
"Now, it's time for you to enjoy the warmth of the sun. No need to thank me."
Kanae effortlessly dragged Muzan out of the dark room, out into the bright, sunlit courtyard.
The closer they got to the sunlight, the more pain Muzan felt.
Moments later, his body was fully exposed to the sun.
All his transformations ceased, and like any other demon, he turned to ash the moment the sunlight touched him.
At the same time, all demons connected to Muzan crumbled into dust. Only Tamayo and Yushiro, who had broken free from Muzan's curse, were spared.
With Muzan's death, the chat group erupted with a series of donation notifications.
[Ding! Eriri (Level 8, Stage 5) has donated 10,000 points.]
[Ding! Arifureta (Level 4, Stage 2/Group Leader) has donated 1,000 points.]
[Ding! Arche (Level 3, Stage 9) has donated 1,000 points.]
[Ding! Gabriel (Level 3, Stage 8) has donated 1,000 points.]
[Ding! …]
The donations weren't particularly meaningful—most of the group members had millions of points. These small amounts were just for fun.
[Eriri (Level 8, Stage 5): Oh my, poor Muzan. He only got to enjoy the warmth of the sun for one second.]
[Elaina (Level 3, Stage 9): The Wisteria tea didn't work as well as I hoped.]
[Gabriel (Level 3, Stage 8): Well done.]
[Arifureta (Level 4, Stage 2/Group Leader): Congratulations, Kanae. You've finally slain Muzan. Your world is safe now.]
[Kanae Kocho (Level 4, Stage 1): Yes, without the threat of demons, people's lives will be much better, and the Demon Slayer Corps won't lose any more members.]
[Eriri (Level 8, Stage 5): Without the demon threat, I guess the Demon Slayer Corps will be disbanding soon.]
[Kanae Kocho (Level 4, Stage 1): Most likely. But at least now I'll have more free time. Don't be surprised when I come over to hang out.]
[Eriri (Level 8, Stage 5): You're always welcome! I've got rooms ready for you anytime.]
[Chika Fujiwara (Level 3, Stage 7): It's over already? I was planning to sneak a peek after class.]
[Ruri Gokou (Level 3, Stage 3): Watched the whole thing.]
[Chika Fujiwara (Level 3, Stage 7): ???]
[Yuuki Asuna (Level 3, Stage 5): Ruri, did you skip class again?]
[Ruri Gokou (Level 3, Stage 3): Nope. I just watched it with my eyes open. No biggie. Victory pose.jpg]
[Eriri (Level 8, Stage 5): You're too much.]
[Arche (Level 3, Stage 9): All that just to watch a live stream? You're dedicated.]
[Kanae Kocho (Level 4, Stage 1): I'm touched, Ruri. Sister's heart is warmed.]
[Ruri Gokou (Level 3, Stage 3): Uh…]
[Yuuki Asuna (Level 3, Stage 5): …]
[Rias Gremory (Level 2, Stage 9): Um… could you tell me how you guys earn so many points?]
Watching the stream notifications about donations left Rias feeling a bit disheartened. Just yesterday, she had scraped together everything she could, only to earn around 10,000 points. She had managed to raise her power by one stage, but now her points were back to zero.
Yet all the other group members seemed to have an endless supply of points, throwing out 1,000 points at a time like it was nothing. Eriri even casually donated 10,000 points, which was more than Rias had earned in total.
