first game III

A simple rope was tied to the base of one of the two trees close to each other. The end of the rope was threaded under the ground to the base of the other tree. I praised her trap, wondering if the people of this world were being taught to kill each other from childhood.

"Wow, that trap you just set was improvised or have you practised it before? Simple but very functional. Where did you get the rope, was it in a chest or something?"

The girl looked at me angrily, as if she was angry at what I had said for some reason, and then she rushed forward and swung the sword with all her might.

Looking at how clean the axis of her swing was, I realized that she probably had swordsmanship skills outside of the game.

I wanted to deflect her sword with the dagger in my hand, but the moment the dagger in my hand and the sword in her hand met, I realized it was a mistake.

Feeling the pain in my slightly tingling arm, I jumped backwards and moved away from the girl. It seemed that the girl had already killed someone and assigned all of her stats to strength. Or she had some kind of ability that increased her power.

Instead of immediately following me and launching a second attack, the girl decided to answer the question I had just asked. I was glad that she did that since I didn't know much about this world, but at the same time, her behaviour made me suspect that she was using some kind of ability and that this ability had a cooldown.

"Of course, I didn't get rope from the chest. Are you blind or something? Isn't it obvious I made it out of tree leaves? Oh yeah, if stupid brats like you had studied survival instead of slacking off in high school, you wouldn't even have to ask such a simple thing! Besides, what kind of idiot runs around in the middle of the forest and attracts people's attention?"

Feeling injustice in my heart for having to endure a girl's tribute for no reason, I suddenly used my high agility statistic to run at her. And as I expected, the girl barely reacted and swung her sword again.

This time, as she swung her sword, I saw that the direction of the sword's swing was not as clean as before. Apparently, the girl had an ability that helped her swing her sword, and since she had only recently awakened, she had not had time to improve her sword skills. She's probably an 18-year-old college student just out of high school, just like my current self.

After ducking her sword swing, I stabbed my dagger into her throat in a swift motion to try something else I wanted to try.

-15

After I left my dagger in her throat, I stepped back and watched her. As I expected, she was coughing up blood, trying to get the dagger out of her throat and looking at me angrily.

-10 bleeding damage

-10 bleeding damage

She had probably already lost most of her health points, even though she finally pulled the dagger out of her throat and started running towards me with her own sword.

I simply dodged her off-balance attack as she tried to close her throat with one hand, got behind her and grabbed her neck, breaking it.

-100 critical damage

[ Congratulations on killing a player to get 10 assignable stat points ]

[ Congratulations your stat roll skill has evolved. it is now a D-level skill ]

[ D level - stat roll: once every three minutes, roll a dice and have a random stat increase by 5 points. The ability will evolve when you kill a person) (2:56) ]

I've already learned that certain death-dealing actions, such as breaking the neck or direct attacks on the brain, inflict critical damage equivalent to 10 times the normal damage.

The girl's corpse turned into green ones and zeros and disappeared, leaving behind the wooden box.

When I opened the wooden box this time, I saw that besides the sword the girl had just used, there was also a handmade rope.

[ Unleveled rope: ordinary rope made from tree leaves ]

When I took the rope and stretched it over the tattoo on my right hand, a beam of light from the tattoo enveloped the rope and it was stored in the in-game storage space that everyone had.

At the same time, I picked up the sword the girl had left behind and checked it.

[ E - ordinary short sword: an ordinary short sword that was slightly damaged. Strength*2 damage (Durability 5/10) ]

When I saw that the sword had a statistic called durability, I curiously checked my dagger. Because I had never seen this information on the internet before.

[ F - rusty dagger: strength*1.5 (durability 8/10) ]

It seems I am more skilled at treating my weapon well than this inexperienced girl.

Before I started walking around again, I remembered something the girl had said. It was really my fault for running around carelessly in the middle of the forest, but I have to admit that I didn't expect to face a scary opponent so early in the game.

Besides, right now it makes more sense to move around faster and look for supply kits. I can easily dodge a few simple traps like this one.

Once I had built up enough confidence, I used half of my assignable stat points on defence and agility.

If they teach people how to set traps in schools, I'll probably encounter a lot of traps soon, and agility and defence stats in general are what I need most to avoid traps.

After a few more steps I found another supply box buried at the base of a tree, only a small part of which was still above the ground.

When I opened the chest and saw the iron bracelet inside, I knew it was armour. After three encounters with medieval-type items, I didn't even need to guess anymore.

Probably technological weapons will never appear here. And it's definitely more advantageous for me as it is now.
