second game

After appearing in my personal space again, I took a moment to think before entering the game.

When I first got my special ability, I had a very detailed description of my special ability.

I still had the stat roll ability that I had stolen from someone in the previous game, and it had already evolved to its maximum level.

With the max evolved version of the stat roll ability, I can easily walk sideways on the map after using it a few times.

But I also want to learn more about other people's abilities.

I can replace this dice-rolling ability I have with the ability of anyone I kill. But the problem is that I can't see what the ability of the person I kill will be.

Well, I can steal the ability of every person I kill until I encounter a good ability, but my power will be quite low during the ability exchanges and if the next opponent I encounter has a good ability and will have made good progress, I will probably be the one eliminated.

Hmm, why would getting eliminated be a problem? Oh, that's right, let me choose the university I want to go to first and play my games based on that.

I left my personal space and went back to my room. After turning on my computer, I quickly searched the internet for the best university in the world.

Surprisingly, the result was quite clear. I expected to see news about a few universities claiming to be the best.

After going through a lot of news headlines, I came across what I was looking for. Apparently, we don't need a certain number of wins to enroll in this university.

The university only admits 100 people every year. To be one of those 100 people, you need to be one of the top 100 people with the most wins among the people who apply to the university.

Moreover, when I scrolled down a little further on the news site, it was written how many wins the 100th person who got into the university last year had.

To be honest, the number was much lower than I expected, last year the last person who managed to get into the university had 37 wins. And the number hasn't changed much in the years before that. So if I get 50 or more wins this month, I can easily get into this university. I expected to need at least 100 wins, but this number is much more easily achievable.

From what I've seen in the news headlines, this university looks quite interesting.

Now that I have a goal, there is no reason not to participate in one game after another.

Back in my personal space again, I called up the list of games.

There were about 30 game types that I could participate in at the moment. But most of these games were sports I had no interest in.

[ Game name: Soccer

Number of players: 22

Entry price: -1 month lifespan

Victory reward: +1 month, +10 days Life span

Usually, the prizes in sports-type games are quite low. Probably the people who play these types of games are already professionals in these sports.

There were only 3 game modes on the list that were suitable for me to join.

[ Random world shrinking map survival battle (single player)

Number of players: 100

Entrance fee: -1 month lifespan

Victory reward: +1 year ~ +1 month of life span and 100~1 system points]

[ Designated map survival battle (single-player)

Number of participants: 100

Entrance fee: -1 month life span

Victory reward: +6 months ~ +1 month life span and 50~1 system points]

[ Random world shrinking map survival battle (two-player)

Number of participants: 100

(Note: you will have a random avatar when you enter this game mode)]

Below these three game modes, there were other game modes but they had lock signs on them and I couldn't even read their names. The only thing I knew was that I needed five wins to unlock the next game mode.

So without any further delay, I chose the same game mode as before, and this time I found myself in an unfamiliar house.

The first thing that came to my mind and the first thing that was rejected by me was that it was a system error. Of course, it didn't make sense for an unnatural being like the system that gives humans an infinite life span to make such a simple mistake.

And when I reached out my hands, I realized that it was not a system error. There was an invisible wall surrounding my body, just like in the first game.

As soon as I touched the wall, the system screen appeared in front of me.

[ Waiting for other players to join 39/100 ]

[ Waiting for other players to join 71/100 ]

[ Game starts in 10 seconds ]

As the system screens I saw changed at the speed of light, the countdown began. Unlike before, this time I didn't need to start running straight away because there was a bronze-colored chest in front of me.

Only one of the chests I encountered in the previous game was bronze, and it contained a bow and arrow set that would have been useful for the previous game mode.

The first thing I did after the countdown ended was to use the stat roll special ability and jump on the chest without looking at the outcome.

[ C - Crossbow: strength*3 damage, int*10 range, 90% less noise when in use ]
