Chapter 13: Honestly I passed out

I arrive on site, check my assignment.

Ah yes, better go say hi to Roka first.

On my way there I notice a black parasol near Roka's site.

She's sticking out like a sore thumb. She's at the edge of the cliff spying on Roka from above by the looks of it.

I think I'll surprise her a bit, and if yesterday was really a misunderstanding, maybe this will get an honest reaction out of her. I approach slowly, I grab the scruff of her neck, I don't want her to fall by accident.

Good thing I grabbed her, she totally would have fallen.

She realizes what happened and blushes a bit.

I Let go. She moves het hand to her chest looking a bit shy.

"Please forgive me for my behavior Yesterday, I..."

She bows as my eyes follow her bow downwards I realize she's right on the edge. When she looks up, I instinctively reach out.

She takes a step back but there's nothing there.

My instincts kick in as I drop my pickaxe and run down the cliff after her. I manage to catch her princess carry style.

Now I just need to stick the landing.

A jolt runs from my feet to my thighs as I land. It hurts like hell.

Mind you this was a 5 meter drop. I'm glad she's safe.

Oh damn Roka! As I was thinking that, she comes running over. How do I explain this.

I barely get the words out, my throat feels a bit dry.

"Why don't you like me, is it because I'm old. I'm over 30, is that why?"

I think this is the most honest thing she's ever said to me. I put my finger on her lips. She goes silent.

Tears start forming in the corner of her eyes, she blushes as she realizes what she just said.

As I'm rolling away I thought to myself 'I wish you wouldn't treat an injured person this way'
