Chapter 19: My Isekai Diary

Chapter 19: My Isekai Diary

[------------------------------------------------------------------------------------]

The Diary

My observations and research notes since coming to this world

I've been here for 2 weeks now, I finally settled in. The rent is paid and I could afford this

diary with the change left over.

I woke up in this world and remembered phrases they used like 'Initializing" and 'Optical' this needs further Investigation.

The Adventurer's guild they have here aren't like in the games from back home. There are no rankings, but there is a weekly practical combat test with the staff for newcomers. You just go up to the desk hand them your card then they bring you jobs you can choose from. I mainly do Fetch quests.

[------------------------------------------------------------------------------------]

Felmina puts her hand up

"What's a games?"

Roka looks at her

"It's not important Felmina, I'll explain later. My mom told me about them."

"O-Ok"

[------------------------------------------------------------------------------------]

I only need to do the combat test monthly now. They finally started giving me harder quests.

I can leave town now. This is progress I guess.

I ran into an alchemist today, during my delivery. We got to talking and he suggested I start harvesting medicinal plants, and wholesale them for extra money. I bought a book illustrating the different plants, some basic manufacturing equipment and a map detailing locations in the forest. It wiped out my savings and I still owe him a bit for the maps. I'll pay him later.

This world is weird, like super weird. I found a bird stuck in a tree. Like half his body was fused to the inside of the tree, It reminded me of like clipping errors in games, where 2 static meshes would collide and get stuck. Freaked me the hell out. I need to investigate this.

I had an interview at the Guild today where they informed me I needed to learn fire magic, it is compulsory. They explained that all corpses need to be burned to ash, otherwise they raise from the dead, which would be bad, especially if the monster was strong. I will be tested next week, and if I pass I can get better work. Time to do some training.

I passed. They had me--

[------------------------------------------------------------------------------------]

"Question"

I get up.

"Yes Roka?"

"What's a clipping error, and a static mesh"

Oh shit. I think for a bit

"You know what games are, yes?"

"Yes"

"Ok wait, please explain to Felmina so she doesn't get left behind and get even more confused"

"Ok"

Roka takes a beat.

"So Felmina, according to my mother, the world she comes from, the people there used to create

these other worlds, and they would sit in front of this window they called a screen and take

control of some things in that world using tools called a keyboard and mouse. These worlds

usually told a story"

"That's simply wonderful."

Felmina looks at me.

"Is that true?"

"Well yes kind of, but it would take way to long to explain, and it's not that important.

I think Roka nailed it, for the most part."

"Now back to your question, Static meshes are what we called the objects in the game, and when

something goes wrong sometimes they get stuck together, we call that a clipping error"

"I see"

They continue, but I can already see the steam rise from Felmina's head. Roka too but not as

much.

[------------------------------------------------------------------------------------]

I passed. They had me burn a troll corpse to ash in the training yard out back. I need to train a bit so I can raise my MP.

I almost died, I was only looking at the money I could get from the quest. Those wolves swarmed me I was surrounded in no time. Lucky I realized that you could save your levelups for full recovery. I only use them in emergencies now. But still I think I'll start seriously foraging from tomorrow onwards instead."

[------------------------------------------------------------------------------------]

Roka waits for Felmina to catch up, then puts the bookmark in and closes it.

She thinks for a long while. Felmina's looking at her.

"Dearest husband"

I get up and take a seat from across them.

"I'm Listening"

"Did you use that Full Recovery in the hospital this morning"

Ah! she got me. She really is a genius.

Damn girl. 100 points.

"I did."

"I see."

She looks at me seriously. Felmina seems to be following at least.

"What's your real level?"

"I'm not sure."

"Your best estimation then"

I close my eyes and seriously consider this.

"Between 350 and 450"

"No wonder, I mean Lady Felmina's Level 88, and even I'm Level 80."

"That's how you saved me that day at the site."

Felmina starts squirming.

"That was the day I fell in love. oooooh! just remembering it *burgh-"

Roka puts her palm on Felmina's face stopping her. I look at them smiling.

"Ok, time for dinner I think, then bed you two."

"I wanna keep reading."

I stop her by raising my hand

"Please consider Felmina's and my feelings, I don't want to answer questions twice."

She nods looking reluctant.

I get up and go and get the meal from outside.

We have dinner. We finish.

"Dearest husband, if I may, why do all of this at all. The things in here seems very personal. How can you trust me and Roka to this extent?"

I think for a bit.

"Well since you both married me and placed your lives in my hands, I see no alternative other than

complete honesty going forward, if this relationship has any chance, I can't hold anything back."

Felmina and Roka both blush. Felmina then gets this serious look on her face.

"Dearest husband. There's something you don't know about me. I want to tell you but I think it's

best if I wait until the honeymoon to reveal it, would that be fine?"

That's got me curious. Honeymoon huh.

"Does it have to be then, is it a difficult subject?"

"Yes, I think it best to tell you then, before we... you know."

She blushes, Roka goes beet red.

We all calm down.

"Alright"

We sit and chat for a bit.

"Goodnight"

""Goodnight dearest husband""

I turn the light off.

We sleep.
