Chapter 41: Research. Development and Training

I still hate crowds, but once I can focus on the task at hand it all fades away.

The cheers feel good too I have to admit. Did I change a bit? I hope so.

Being a general is gonna be hard. The king sent me a book written by the greatest general from this world. He later became a king.

The Salt King, James Tailor.

I tried my hand at acting the part of the perfect general he describes. You know, the basics like: act confident, be decisive, give commands in a strong tone, never show weakness, speak slowly and clearly.

I won my matches and I'm still not even tired. Thank you training!!.

Roka and I finished the gravity suit, we used a stretchy black fabric I had tailored.

We stamped gravity seals inside and connected them up, this took up about 2/3 of the insides roughly.

In the open spaces we put anti gravity seals, connecting these up was a hassle let me tell you. We had to work in extra material to connect them all.

For the power sources of the anti gravity we used normal magic cores.

There are 10 square cut 'Batteries' around my waist. We made them by soaking the cores overnight in MP potions we ordered.

When you take it out the next morning you need to be careful, since it's the consistency of Tofu, we designed and built a big guillotine to cut it straight from a round object into rectangles, we could produce 2 'Batteries' from each core that were about the size of my 2 fists put together. For the gravity up circles we connected extra special cores, I had Sebastian order me a dragon core.

It took 4 nights to fill the core with enough MP potion we put into a large pot. The dragon core was an orb about 40 cm in diameter.

We cut the core into a square. Then into 1/4 slabs, one piece was placed on my back, another was cut smaller and put into the boots one on each side of the ankle, one for each wrist hidden inside the gauntlets I'm wearing.

The other half was used for the suits of Felmina and Roka.

They where cut down to fit on their back as well.

They where then left out in the sun so it hardened to form a crystal or glass consistency.

We added padding before we installed it in the armor.

Then we began training, we all slept with the gravity increase on and ran with it on as well.

Roka developed sliders for the gravity intensity settings.

My left and right gauntlets has sliders like the ones you see when people do sound productions in studios.

My left is for anti gravity and my right is for gravity increase.

To calibrate the sliders we had Sebastian get us a scale from the farmers market, you know the one they use to weigh livestock. The maximum weight was around 800Kg, I collapsed on the scale as we tested this and broke my knees.

I was given HP potions and Felmina used the sleep spell on me.

When I woke up we calibrated it to the maximum of 750Kg after I leveled up to 250 to make it simpler.

I sat on the scale this time. I could barely breathe.

I had to use the G-Force resistance method that pilots use to stay conscious.

I started off small. I slid it to half to increase the gravity and poured my mana through my right gauntlet to activate.

The 'battery' lasts for around 72 Hours before it needs to be recharged.

You recharge it by touching it and putting your own mana into it until it gives off light.

We ordered another dragon core and made spare batteries for our armor.

My appetite increased as I got used to weighing 500 Kg.

My level when I started was 320.

When my level reached 450, I increased the gravity to the full 750Kg.

I ate for 9 people. All this training took me about a month and a half.

I could run at 1 and a half normal speed with full gravity.

We have a month left before the matches start, so I started switching off gravity and we calibrated the anti gravity so I could weigh at least 50Kg on full blast.

When I tried to take off weighing 50 Kg my legs kept slipping as I took off I fell more than once, or I just jumped waaaay too high.

I tried taking off running with my normal weight being 250 Kg, this worked better.

YEEEES Progress!!

I finally figured out the secret.

I now activate the gravity increase field on half then take off then disable it as you accelerate. then turn on the anti gravity set to make me weigh 100 Kg.

Then I can reach my top speed without falling.

Getting the timing right for this sequence took me a month.

My first few times I got so fast and couldn't stop so I ran into the wall a bunch.

It hurt like hell every time.

To stop I had to switch back to gravity up and turn off anti gravity.

The time for the matches has arrived.

I am pleased with how my training turned out.

I had the wooden sword for the match enchanted too to make it really heavy.

We strung the extra pieces of the dragon core together to form the core for the sword.

We connected the core to the magic circles running along the length of the blade or wood or whatever.

There's a switch built into the bottom of the hilt to activate the enchantment.

The sword weighs 100Kg when activated.

It only has one setting.

We sent the rest to the blacksmith to have my greatsword's core made.

The greatsword is taller than me. The hilt of the greatsword is pushed in like the magazine for a gun in order to activate it. It weighs 200Kg when activated.

About 1 week left just after we finished the wooden sword's enchantment.

Felmina asked me to explain what I hoped to accomplish, I tried explaining it but she didn't get it. She said that she sees the results but can't figure out why.

So I had her put on a full plate armor and stand in the middle of the field.

I then hit her with the wooden sword unactivated. It weighed about 10 Kg. She took only one step back when I hit her as hard as I could.

I then activated the sword only. Then hit her again. She landed on her ass, then I explained why. She got it. I then said to her 'Imagine if I increased my own weight too, and then hit you'. I saw her get shivers just imagining it. When I swung the sword that was activated and I was my normal weight, I had to hold the sword in the middle with my right hand in order to swing it at all. But If I weighed 750Kg instead of 250 Kg I could swing it like a normal heavy sword.

They trained alongside me.

Roka and Felmina were both Level 90. When their armor was completed they increased their level to 100 to make calibration easier.

They both took a page from my book by sitting on the scale instead.

I taught them the G-Force resist method.

They where both about level 150 when we started. Felmina took to the training more than Roka did. Their appetites increased a lot too. By the end of the training Felmina mastered the anti gravity technique and was about level 300 by the end.

The maximum her suit could produce was 400Kg, Her minimum weight was 35 Kg, she was almost as fast as me.

Roka on the other hand got the gravity up training, but not the anti gravity training.

She was about level 240 by the end.

I swore them both to secrecy before my match started.

It would be way too dangerous to let the Shadowfall kingdom have this technology to freely use and exploit. They could conquer the world using this.
