Chapter 1
Emily Wilson's was like a gentle breeze on a summer's day - soft, soothing, and filled with warmth. Her bright hazel eyes sparkles
with a quiet intensity, shining like stars on a clear night sky. Her long, curly brown hair cascaded down her back like a waterfall of chestnut silk, framing her heart-shaped face with effortless elegance. Her smile could light up a room, radiating a gentle kindness that put those around her at ease. Yet, beneath her serene surface, a depth of emotion and resilience stirred, like the quiet strength of a river that flows beneath the surface and it seems she had lost her shine.
"Emily!" Karen Wilson, her mother shouted knocking at the door of her daughters room "Would you open the door ?"
"I didn't lock it " Emily replied her mother and soon her mother entered. Karen sat on the bed beside her daughter and tried to guage how she was feeling.
"You can't keep doing this to yourself" Karen said to her daughter "you have locked yourself in the room. You refuse to eat or to go out or to entertain friends"
"I don't have friends!" She replied her mom, almost yelling "In fact, the only friend I have is dead so what is the point of doing all you are complaining about"
"I understand you are still mourning the death of your boyfriend, Emily. I feel your pain but this is not the best way to deal with loss, my darling"
"Ryan was more than my boyfriend but my best friend, my only friend. I doubt I can get over him.
"Hush!" Her mother cautioned "you will get over it. I will make sure of it. We are traveling" her mother annouced
Emily sat upright giving full attention to what her mother said "What do you mean by traveling"
"I mean that we are traveling.I was thinking we should go to Greenville to see your cousins and to get you away from this place so you can forget about Ryan."..
"I don't want to go"
"Why?"
"Besides I don't know anyone there and my cousins are not my agemate"
"I know but it would be nice. Trust me!"
"I don't want to go"
"You have no choice. Now I want you to get off this bed. Make this bed, wash yourself and your hair, look presentable. I have made dinner, you would eat and start to pack your loads. We leave by tomorrow"
"Mom?!" Emily didn't like this idea
"It is for your best,my dear." She said and left the room as she didn't want further arguments from her daughter...
