Chapter 7: The Hotel

### Chapter 7: The Hotel

Luo Jun woke up without knowing how much time had passed.

The first thing he saw was a white ceiling and a dimly lit room.

"Where am I?" Luo Jun found himself lying on a large bed with white bedding beneath him.

He sat up and looked around. There were bedside lamps on either side, a TV mounted on the wall opposite the bed, and two bottles of mineral water labeled "Hotel Supply" on the TV cabinet.

This is... a hotel room? How did I get here?

Luo Jun took a deep breath, feeling slightly uncomfortable. It wasn't exactly cold, but he sensed a vague chill enveloping him, trying to penetrate his body.

Feeling confused, he rubbed his head and recalled his recent experiences. He remembered being at the mall, encountering a child being kidnapped by a trafficker, and then...

Luo Jun suddenly sat up. "I encountered a group of superhuman freaks and got sucked into a black hole!"

Remembering this, Luo Jun quickly summoned the Destiny Dice to check the message logs.

After pushing the child out, he had used the Destiny Dice one last time to survive.

Judging by the current situation, he had succeeded!

Luo Jun activated the system to review the message logs.

"Event 'Survive,' Event Difficulty 38, Final Points 55, Event Success!"

"Severity Coefficient 12x, Total Experience 456 points."

"Mission 'Save the Child' completed!"

"Mission Difficulty 75, Severity Coefficient 4x."

"Final Reward: 300 Chips."

"Calculating mission experience..."

"During the mission, the dice were used six times, totaling 1714 experience points."

"Congratulations, you have leveled up!"

"You can allocate attribute points!"

"Congratulations, you have reached level five and can draw a skill."

...

A string of notifications left Luo Jun slightly dizzy. He hadn't expected the survival and child rescue missions to reward him with over two thousand experience points, raising him four levels in one go!

Along with this, he received more information about the Destiny Dice.

Apparently, leveling up not only allowed for attribute point allocation but also granted skills. Besides the mandatory "Everything is Dice" at level one, additional skills could be drawn at every multiple of five levels, such as five, ten, fifteen, and so on.

"Since the user lost consciousness and has unclaimed rewards, would you like to claim them now?"

Luo Jun chose to claim his rewards and entered the Destiny Dice's deceleration state.

He had four levels of attribute points and one skill to draw. Thinking it over, he decided to draw the skill first.

According to the information, skills were related to the Destiny Dice system, so obtaining a skill first would likely benefit the subsequent draws.

"Ding, congratulations on obtaining the skill: Basic Point Adjustment."

"Basic Point Adjustment: When using the Destiny Dice, you can choose to adjust the final roll positively or negatively by up to five points."

This skill made Luo Jun's eyes light up.

The skill effect meant he could increase or decrease the final roll result by up to five points. In other words, for any future event rolls, he could increase the outcome by up to five points if needed!

Typically, the average roll is around 50 points, but with this skill, Luo Jun's average would be 55 points!

Coupled with his level six luck, which positively influenced the dice results, his success rate for events would be significantly higher whenever he used the Destiny Dice.

A few rolls might not show much difference, but over time, this could have a huge impact on his life... no, the immediate benefits were already apparent!

Luo Jun suddenly thought of a crucial question!

For regular events, the Destiny Dice's roll limit was 100 points, but for leveling up, the roll limit was only 10 points.

Would the +5 adjustment apply here too?

Perfect timing to test it, as he still had attributes to allocate!

As the white die spun and stopped, the number displayed was 3.

The moment the result appeared, Luo Jun received a prompt asking if he wanted to use the skill.

It worked!

In the end, Luo Jun received 3+5=8 attribute points!

Overjoyed, Luo Jun drew three more times, gaining 12, 9, and 11 attribute points respectively!

After automatic distribution, Luo Jun's panel looked like this:

**Name:** Luo Jun

**Level:** 8 (101/900)

**Attributes:**

- **Strength:** 26 points

- **Agility:** 21 points

- **Perception:** 22 points

- **Spirit:** 23 points

- **Luck:** 6 points

**Skills:** Everything is Dice, Basic Point Adjustment

**Items:** None

**Chips:** 300

**Uses Remaining:** 5/5

...

After drawing all the attributes and skills, Luo Jun focused on the newly acquired chips.

These were his mission rewards: 300 chips for a mission difficulty of 75 and a severity coefficient of four. It seemed missions didn't directly award experience but provided chips instead.

What could these chips be used for?

As Luo Jun pondered, new information appeared in his mind.

Chips were the currency of the Destiny Dice system, primarily used to exchange for item rewards.

However, there wasn't a reward list for Luo Jun to choose from. Everything seemed tied to luck, including redeeming rewards, which was done through a lottery system.

Beneath the chip system were four buttons representing fortune bags, with corresponding amounts: 300 chips, 500 chips, 1000 chips, and 3000 chips.

According to the description, these fortune bags could randomly produce special items, with higher value bags offering a greater chance for higher-tier items.

With only 300 chips, Luo Jun could only draw the cheapest fortune bag.

Should he save up for higher-tier items, or draw a small fortune bag to see what he gets?

After some thought, Luo Jun clicked on the smallest fortune bag.

Having just received the system, he wasn't worried about long-term planning. Understanding the rules and details was more important.

As he made his choice, the 300 chips were instantly deducted, and the fortune bag icon began to shine. Accompanied by a green glow, it transformed into a small red die.

Luo Jun focused on the die, and soon its attributes appeared before him:

**Name:** Weighted Die

**Grade:** Excellent (Green)

**Effect:** Consumable. If dissatisfied with the current roll result, you can use this item to re-roll. The re-roll has a 30-point difficulty adjustment.

**Uses:** 1/1

**Note:** This one doesn't count; your dice are faulty. Try mine!

...

This effect made Luo Jun's eyes shine!

In essence, it allowed a re-roll after a failure, with a much higher success rate!

This was valuable, even as a consumable, due to its powerful effect!

The only downside was that the re-roll provided a difficulty adjustment rather than a point adjustment.

In other words, it lowered the difficulty rather than increased the points. If it were a point adjustment, he could use it for the next level-up and get thirty points of attributes for free!

With his first item in hand, Luo Jun gained more knowledge about the system's items.

The system's items were categorized into six grades, each emitting different glows upon generation.

From lowest to highest, they were: Common (White), Excellent (Green), Rare (Blue), Epic (Purple), Legendary (Gold), and Mythical (Dark Gold).

The initial 300-chip fortune bag could yield items of Common, Excellent, and Rare grades, with Common being the most probable and Rare the least. Luo Jun drawing an Excellent item on his first try meant his luck wasn't bad!

With all rewards claimed, Luo Jun finally exited the deceleration state of the Destiny Dice.

He flipped off the bed with a move, feeling the thrill of the increased attributes, and surveyed the unfamiliar room.

Now it was time to figure out his situation.

Clearly, he had been caught up in some mysterious event. But with the Destiny Dice, he had a certain psychological resilience to supernatural phenomena and wasn't too panicked.

The room seemed like a typical hotel room. Luo Jun had stayed in hotels during school trips, and the setup was similar, except this was a single room while he had previously shared a double.

The key question was, which hotel was this?

Should he go out and ask? Judging by the label on the water bottles, he was still in the country and should be able to communicate.

Luo Jun walked to the door and was about to open it when he noticed a note stuck on it.
