The Earl's revelation formed a significant moment for Knight. As he walked out of the Earl's library, he gradually pondered what the latter thought of him and his actions. He wondered how sloppy he had become that the Earl finally recognized him. He needed to be much more discreet. He wanted Lady Victoria to know him through his own acquaintance, not by someone else introducing him to her.

'How hell, would the Earl know him_' he scolded himself as…

"Hey…" A soft voice called out as Knight was stepping on the first staircase leading to the Lancaster living room door. The voice was from behind him, so he turned to check who it was, only to be met by Larny, Lady Victoria's maid. His face froze, as he subtly shifted his gaze to Lady Victoria, at the parlor, who was being bored by the lame talks of the tiring Lord Beming.

"Hello," Knight retorted, his body posture slightly away from Larny's position. He was uncomfortable speaking to her like this.
