A WHIFF OF HOPE

Astrid

Former me would be embarrassed at how badly I was stressing just because Magnus had not contacted me yet. I had been expecting his call, text message, or anything all day, and the absence of any of those had completely ruined my day.

"Astrid!"

I snapped back to the present and blinked at my father's slightly irritated expression.

"Did you get what I said?" He asked.

"Uhm…something about the full moon being the pack's weakest time," I stated hesitantly.

He eyed me coldly, then picked up a paper and handed it to me.

"I asked if you've counted the pack members."

"Yes," I answered, my eyes scanning across the paper. "I did that yesterday."
