AN UNVEILING UNEXPECTED

Magnus

I suddenly burst into laughter at how messed up everything seemed. In the space of a week and a half, my body had been stolen, I had found a new one, and now I was sitting in the library at the home of the alpha of the Silverwood pack, completely unrecognizable.

I drummed my fingers methodically on top of the book I had plucked from the shelf before picking it up and flipping to the first page. "The Werewolf's Grimoire," I read out loud, then snapped my head up as I heard footsteps thumping down the hallway towards the door.

For some reason, I bolted up from the seat and stood waiting for whoever it was to enter.

I clenched and unclenched my fingers, hoping it wouldn't be Astrid's father or brother. I wasn't in the mood for a fight or explanation.

The door flew open, and Astrid came rushing towards me at full speed, crashing into me before I had time to react.
