Chapter Twelve

Elianore sat behind the wheel of her father's priced 1962 rolls-royce phantom V, it's black exterior exuded a soft glow under the full moon. As she drove, she adjusted herself to make herself much more comfortable in the driver's seat. The familiar scent of her father's perfume was stuck to the car and it drifted to her nostrils, strangely it did well to calm her spirits.

She drove slowly along the Prava road surrounded by forest that was constructed two months ago by the government as a diversion. An overhead bridge was about to be built and it's aim was to manage traffic.

Elianore hissed as she gazed at the Google map on her phone, Praise God, her battery was strong and she had a power bank in case of necessity, you never know with this technology called phones.

Elianore began panicking, was she lost? She had been driving for more than ten minutes and hadn't seen the familiar landmark she saw in her vision. Was she really normal? When she had gone back to sleep, Greybeard had come to her in another vision imploring her to go and rescue the man in her vision. She had gone back to sleep after waking up and the third vision was more like a nightmare, greybeard had gripped her by the throat and threatened her in hushed whispers. Somehow when she woke up, her neck still pained her, making her to question herself if she really needed the help of medical professionals and was secretly going insane. She had told her mother that she was going out of for a drive. Maybe indeed she was going insane. But all that thought was thrown out of her mind as she saw the familiar landmark in her dream. It was a lane diversion sign.

She flashed her head lights on it to be sure that she was not hallucinating. She sighed in relief and leaned against the driver's seat. She plugged he phone and left the engine runnin and stepped out of the car. Taking a quick scan of her surroundings she saw that it was empty. She turned off the ignition, took out a powerful flashlight, closed the door and began to walk towards the forest, she took one last look at her back before plunging deep into the forest.

Nicholas sat down on the forest floor with an injured arm as he recalled the events that lead to his misfortune. Old johnny had decided to take the Prava road as their was heavy traffic on the main roads and he wanted to go see his Pa. They had been ambushed by another vehicle, if his weak brain could recall it was a rusty Ford Gran torino, 70's model. They had owned fired at the passengers seat and the bullet had penetrated through the window and pierced his shoulder. He had screamed in anguish as old johnny rammed their car forcefully against theirs but one of those flimsy bastards had shot the tire of the car before old johnny rammed them causing the two cars to be overturned off the narrow road.

As he began to lose consciousness, he heard the breaking of twigs and branches and through his blurred vision he saw a strange figure with a bright torchlight approach him.
