Chapter 5 – Chat Group?

Rena's POV

[YES] [NO]

"..."

What would you do if something suspicious suddenly appeared in front of you? My answer is simple.

Ignore it.

Continuing with my day, I focused on the teacher.

A few hours passed since class started. The bell rang, signaling the end of class and the start of break time. The teachers mostly covered the basics of what we'll study for the next three years—useless information, in my opinion. So, I slept through class on my first day.

What? Don't judge me. If you were forced to listen to information that's irrelevant to you for over an hour, wouldn't you want to sleep? Don't worry about me getting caught; avoiding detection is child's play for a cultivator like me.

Now, I'm on the rooftop, standing at the edge of the building with my arms crossed. If you're wondering why, the answer is simple: it looks cool. I just need a black hoodie to complete the look.

I decided to enjoy and embrace all this childish feeling I had before I started entering the demon path. All will be gone once I start it anyway, so why not?

Anyway, ever since I stepped onto the rooftop, my sense of presence has been tingling, indicating someone was here before me. Despite my dramatic pose, this person hasn't revealed themselves. Do you think I didn't know you were there?

"How long are you going to hide? Show yourself," I said, maintaining my pose.

"Eh, you knew I was here?!" a male voice replied.

"Hmph, do you think I'm so weak that I can't sense someone around me?" I finally turned to face the source of the voice.

"So cool..." he muttered. Do you think I can't hear you? Even if you didn't say it, I already know I'm cool. "A-ano! My name is Amano Kazuya. May I know your name?" he asked.

"After knowing my name, what are you going to do?" I asked back.

"C-can you teach me how to become as cool as you?" he asked, his eyes full of determination.

"Humph," I scoffed, walking toward the door. Just before reaching the doorknob, I said without looking back, "Coolness isn't something you learn. It's something you find within yourself."

creak* thud*

Dang, I admit, I was pretty cool just now. I bet that guy is still thinking about how awesome I was. I flicked my hair to the side for added effect.

"..."

Okay, maybe that's a bit narcissistic. Anyway, less than an hour later, the bell rang, signaling the end of break time. I returned to class and resumed my nap.

rang*

The bell rang again, indicating school was over. It's time for clubs or heading home for those without one. I belong to the going-home club, which is basically not having a club at all. On my way back, the sakura petals still dancing in the air, scattered all over the road. After a few minutes of walking, I finally reached home.

"Welcome back, Miss!" my maid Ayumi greeted me. "How was school?"

"Nothing much," I replied.

"Ehh, tell me in detail, please~" Ayumi clung to my left arm.

"Noisy!" I gently pushed her away. 'Tch, how troublesome this emotion of mine...' My thought spoke.

"Anh~" Ayumi spun around dramatically and pretended to fall. She rubbed her eyes and said, "Sob, sob, where is the cute Miss I served a few years ago? I miss her so much. Ah, how cruel this world is..."

Not wanting to deal with her antics, I quickened my pace. Soon, I reached my room, changed into something comfortable, and snuggled into bed. After a few moments of calm, I focused on the floating screen in front of me. It was getting annoying, so I decided to deal with it.

[Would you like to join?]

[YES] [NO]

I moved my finger to press [NO], but it went right through the screen. Is this thing only responsive to mental commands? Focusing my mind, I pressed [NO]. The screen changed.

[Are you sure?]

[YES] [NO]

Focusing again, I pressed [YES].

[Are you really sure?]

[YES] [NO]

I pressed [YES] once more.

[Are you really really sure?]

[YES] [NO]

"..." I looked at the screen blankly. If this was a person, its head would already be rolled on the floor.

I pressed [YES] again.

[The chance of receiving this is near 0, you know. Are you sure?]

[YES] [NO]

"YES, I'M SURE!" I screamed. I pressed [YES] once more.

[Are you really really really really sure?]

[YES] [NO]

"Grrrrrr," Feeling pissed, I sighed and decided to just go with the flow and pressed [NO].

"UR? SSR? What the heck are those?" I muttered.
