"Where did you guys originally come from?"
Oboro asked, looking down at his soup while mixing it with his spoon. The room fell silent as we all tried to make an answer did didn't make us sound crazy.
"Well, we came from the north."
Aizawa answered, sipping some of his soup with a calm expression.
"So, which empire do you come from then?"
Oboro then inquired as he looked us all down with a smile. The room then fell silent again.
My eyes scanned the room urgently trying to find something, luckily there was a map above Oboro's bed, and I just read any empire in the north.
"W-we come from the...uh...Indun Empire."
I said, almost choking on my soup. Oboro raised an eyebrow curiously.
"The Indun Empire? with everything I know I thought that place was a dictatorship and no one was allowed to leave."
Sweat was beaming down my head at this point, what excuse could I possibly make at this point?
"Well...we were lucky."
I saw Shinso visibly facepalm, before he started to talk while taking a deep breath in.
"Actually we were among the few that were allowed to leave for immigration purposes, didn't you know about the campaign that happened 2 years ago?"
Oboro looked at Shinso and nodded.
"Yeah, I'm familiar."
I looked at Shinso with a puzzled and almost astonished look, how is he able to recall history he doesn't even know about?
"How did you know that?"
I whispered to him, Shinso turned to me before pointing to the pile of books that sat near Oboro's bed.
"I read a little while he was cooking dinner."
I nodded, turning back to food while bunching on the boiled bread. It actually was as good as Oboro mentioned it was, the blend of the carrots and peas was a near perfect combination with the soft bread.
"Damn, you really should make the vegetable bread you were talking about."
I joked, swallowing my food. Oboro looked at me and laughed.
"Hah, I guess so...oh yeah, you guys must be thirsty?"
Oboro had now just remembered that we didn't have anything to drink with our meals, so he shuffled over to the cabinet and took out a few bottles of alcohol. But Mr. Aizawa's face turned stern as he watched him start to pour the drinks.
"You do know we have teenagers here too."
Aizawa growled at Oboro, displeased with the use of alcoholic beverages. Oboro only looked confused.
"Well, the drinking age here is only 14."
Aizawa's eyes widened.
"Only 14, how stupid are the people running this place?"
Oboro just shrugged as he poured the last glasses and spread them throughout the table.
"Well, do you have anything else? I don't want anyone throwing up."
Aizawa warned as he turned to look at us, I simply grimaced at the beverage, pushing it away from me, Shinso just stared into the glass.
"Can't you just get some water from the sink?"
Aizawa asked further at Oboro, almost stating the obvious. Oboro turned to look at the sink for a few moments before looking back at us.
"Well, I used the last of the water to make the meal."
He stated, looking down at his meal, but this eyes then flickered with excitement.
"Hey, gimmie those!"
Oboro said as he pointed to me and Shinso's drinks. I didn't think much of it as I handed him my drink, Shinso's eyes narrowed but he ended up giving him the drink too.
Oboro looked down at the 2 drinks and waved his hands over them, suddenly the cups started to glow a bright blue color.
Then, in an instant, the cups transformed from alcohol to glasses of water with a small explosion of magic.
"What the..."
The table went silent, our eyes wide as he stared at the cups of water, then up at Oboro who returned our gazes with a confused expression.
"What? You haven't seen Routeway abilities?"
The room was silent for a good few more moments before Shinso broke the silence.
"What the hell was that?"
Oboro simply only looked more confused as he started talking.
"Routeway's? The only way humans can get supernatural abilities and unlock extraordinary strength? It's like you're from another world with your cluelessness."
Oboro chuckled in an offsetting manner.
"How did you unlock those powers, what about quirks?"
Aizawa asked Oboro, folding his hands on the wooden table.
"What are quirks?"
