Chapter 31

After a good 20 minutes of discussion the officer left the room and we were back alone. Before he left he gave us the address to the infirmary he was staying at, so we could openly visit him.

"We should visit him."

Aizawa said as he put on his shoes by the door and stepped out into the hallway, me and Shinso nodded in agreement before doing the same.

"Well, the address is 29 Willow road."

Aizawa read the address before stuffing it into his pocket and heading down the staircase into the lobby with us. Lancy was polishing a few glass shot bottles when he looked up towards us.

"Do you know where Oboro is? He left with you guys this morning and didn't come back."

Aizawa gulped as he looked at Lancy before speaking in a collected manner.

"Oboro got shot by an unknown figure, we're visiting him in the hospital."

His eyes widened and he almost dropped his glasses onto the floor beneath him, before sitting down in the chair while rubbing his temples.

"Go...see him, I'll be here if you need me."

We could all hear Lancy's voice breaking and sadness filled by his expression. We then left the apartment lobby and turned left, heading towards 29 Willow Road.

It took us about 10 minutes to reach the hospital, which was an old looking, industrial building. Aizawa approached the building and opened the large doors, and was instantly greeted by a large room with multiple curtained up booths and nurses in every direction.

He walked over to a nurse at the counter, she looked up and smiled at him.

"Greetings sir, here to see anyone?"

Aizawa nodded, before pointing to Oboro's name on the sheet of imported patients.

"Oboro Shirakumo."

His voice was low with a neutral tone, but I could clearly hear the pain laced deep in it. The nurse stood up, putting her black hair into a nun before she proceeded down the room and led us to a booth, opening the curtain and showing us Oboro.

He was inside a hospital gown, inside a bed with bandages wrapped around his higher chest, a little stain of red leaked near his heart. He opened his eyes and looked at us with a smile.

"H-hey guys."

His voice was raspy and hoarse, meaning he probably just woke up.

"Hello Oboro, how are you feeling?"

Aizawa asked, his voice was soft as he pulled out a chair in the corner of the room before sitting down near Oboro's bed, looking at him with a concerned gaze.

Oboro coughed briefly before speaking.

"Well, I won't be able to walk for a few days, and my chest still hurts."

Aizawa nodded before grabbing a piece of paper from his pocket, putting it on top of a book sitting next to it, like a makeshift clipboard.

"Do you know what the man who shot you looked like?"

Oboro's face instantly grew confused as he leaned up, letting out a little groan.

"I don't know, the only thing I saw was the bullet heading to my chest, but I did see a fleeting cloak depart onto a rooftop while I lay bleeding."

Aizawa fell silent, staring into the ground while biting his thumb, before looking back up at Oboro after a few moments.

"So they did escape via rooftops."

He thought to himself, before continuing to interrogate Oboro.

"Does anyone have the bullet or the gun used in the shooting, or did the user flee with it?"

Oboro sighed, his voice gradually lowering.

"Well, I think they did, otherwise I might have heard it dropping, and the police at the crime scene would be running tests to determine its owner."

"What about the bullet? They would have to remove it from your body."

Aizaw further inquired, leaning back in the chair while letting out a sigh of annoyance.

"Well, they do have the bullet, it's at the police station."
