Chapter 61

The sound of the gun being fired rang through the air, and before I could react, it hit me straight in the chest. The impact propelled me backwards and into a table, before I felt all sense of reality leave my body, and I fell unconscious, maybe I died.

Shinso looked back at my body in horror, but he didn't have time to check my wounds before Aaron fired another shot, this time Shinso was able to dodge the bullet, leaping to his left and colliding into another table, and flipping it over as a makeshift shield.

Aizawa watched the scene in shock, he then turned to look at Aaron, his crimson eyes flaring with anger and an unprepared boiling rage.

He then ran over to him like a feral animal, grabbing a nearby chair before whipping Aaron over the head with it, temporarily incapacitating him.

"What's happening?!"

He heard Madame Fitzgerald scream as she entered the room and saw the chaos ensuing, but of course she had her bodyguard covering her body to prevent any danger from coming to her body.

Suddenly a few people in the room turned to look at Madame Fitzgerald, and they all had on matching suits, and behind their hair Aizawa could see the matching moon symbols on their foreheads, exactly like Demetrius's.

Then they all pulled out handguns and started to fill the air with bullets, either shooting at Demetruis, Cattleya, Carter or Aizawa, and strangely not Aaron.

"Get down!"

Carter screamed as he tackled Cattleya and rolled them under a table.

"Do you have the notes they want?"

Cattleya shook her head frantically, her eyes filled with fear and slight anger.

"I don't, why would I take them with me, didn't Isaac tell me to remain cautious of my surroundings?"

After saying that, she suddenly rolled out from under the table and stood up before removing her high heel, and throwing it into one of the members' heads, sending them to the floor.

Even while one of her feet were left bare against the tiled floor, which saw covered in either blood or shattered glasses, she continued to fight and push onward, she leaped into a member of the Nightshades, before ripping a gun from their hand and shooting 2 members in the chest, sending them also the floor.

Carter, who was washing with a face full of blush, didn't notice the gunned man behind him, and they pulled the trigger.

The bullet shot through the air and towards his skull, but before the bullet even penetrated his skin, it stopped midair, being surrounded by an illusory blue hue.

"Lucky I saved your ass."

Demetruis jumped over a table and used the Order 4 abilities of the Luma Routeway, and the bullet quickly changed and morphed into a dagger, which had blue and purple accents, laced with the essence of the cosmos.

He slashed the dagger across one of their chests, and instead of a usual effect, the man's body states to simultaneously combust, before exploding in a fit of cosmic energy.

In the residue, the cosmic residue began to contract and spread all at once, before the residue eventually formed into a black hole, an actual black hole, which began to suck everything in existence inside of it.

"What the..."

Shinso's eyes widened as he held onto my body tightly in order to prevent me from being sucked into the black hole, his arms almost digging into my flesh, causing small bleeding in my arm.

The bullet lodged into my chest started to vibrate and shake slightly, before it was ripped from my body and sent spiraling into a random direction, it bounced off walls and chairs, before finally colliding into the head of Madame Fitzgerald's bodyguard.

The corpse then instantly gravitated into the black hole, but strangely Madame Fitzgerald didn't move even in the slightest.

Just then Raymond barged into the room, holding a strange artifact.

"What's that?"

She asked, looking towards Raymond with puzzlement and fear. Raymond simply opened the artifact, which was actually a book of some sort.

"Only individuals that are deceased can enter the black hole."

Raymond wrote on the paper, before showing it to Madame Fitzgerald. Aaron turned to look at Raymond, his face filled with shock.

"Where did you get that, kid?"

Raymond turned to look at Aaron, a small smile on his face.

"It's an artifact from the previous epoch, the law-tome. Writing a conceptual change within its pages affects the surroundings."

After hearing that he ripped the book from Raymond's hands and read what was on the page.

"Only individuals that are deceased can enter the black hole."

He said out loud, his voice filled with shock and amazement.

"You're saying the only reason I'm not in there is because I'm not dead? Do you know how strong that book is, and why you have it to begin with?"

Before Raymond could explain, a body whipped past their eyes, it was mine, and it was headed towards the black hole.

Shinso and Aizawa instantly leaped towards my body, reaching their arms out in an attempt to grab the body. Upon seeing that, Raymond's eyes narrowed and a cheeky smile formed on his face.

"Anyone holding a dead body will be propelled back 5 feet."

After writing that the book began to glow a bright green color, and the pages began to turn and flip rapidly, before flipping to a previous page.

"Only 1 rule can be extracted at a time."

Suddenly, everyone in the room was pulled off their feet, and began to gravitate towards the black hole in the center of the room.

"You fool!"

Aaron cried out, looking at Raymond with an angered and fearful expression as he gripped into a pillar in the room with his arms, holding on for dear life.

"I didn't know that, wait."

Raymond's eyes widened as he flipped through the book, he was hiding behind a pillar to prevent himself from being pulled into the vortex before flipping through the book and writing another thing back.

"2 rules in the book can be extracted at the same time."

After writing that he flipped back through the book and erased the first rule, before flipping and rewriting the rule he wrote down first.

"Only dead people can be pulled into the black hole."

The book suddenly began to shake violently before closing shut and falling to the floor, unable to be reopened, suddenly everyone in the room was frozen in place, except Raymond.

"What's happening?!"

Aaron yelled, unable to move. Shinso and Aizawa watched helplessly as my lifeless body gravitated into the black hole, being sucked into the lifeless abyss.

"No!"

Shinso, still unable to move due to the paradox in the rule-tome, watched as my body instantly disappeared into the vortex.

Everyone else in the room, including Oboro, were left motionless for a few more moments before the black hole suddenly closed shut, and everyone regained their sense of mobility.

Aizawa and Shinso both fell to the floor, their eyes locked on where the black hole once stood, and where the now empty room they were in was around them.

The Nightshade members looked confused, scared and dazed, but in the midst of the scene they turned their gazes back to Cattleya, Carter and Demetrius.

But strangely, they all dropped their guns and weapons, before falling to the ground, lying motionless.

"What?"

Carter scooted over to one of the lifeless bodies, before lying his hand onto one of their chests, feeling for any trace of a heartbeat.

"Their...dead?"

Suddenly Demetrius walked over to one of the corpses before speaking up, and flipped their bangs up, revealing the symbols on their forehead, which looked like they were half erased.

"I created that black hole on purpose, knowing it would only destroy the Nightshades. Since a member of the Nightshades created the black hole, it wouldn't affect me due the sense of intent placed around it, but its metaphysical properties were strangely altered."

"We don't have time to discuss any of that bullshit, Isaac's dead now, damn it!"

Shinso yelled out, his indigo hair in a mess on his head, everyone turned to look at Shinso, having almost forgotten about Isaac's apparent demise.

"Right..."

When I reopened my eyes, only nothing surrounded my eyes, besides with a large amount of gray fog and darkness. I looked around my surroundings and found the Nightshade members lying around, not moving a muscle.

"Where am I?"

I leaned up and rubbed my head, and upon looking down I noticed that all of my wounds had healed completely, and my head wasn't pounding.

"You're dead, child."

An illusory voice rang through the void, it was deep and gruff, but also sounded majestic and ethereal. It sounded from all directions, but in the corner of my eyes I saw a figure, it stood about 10 feet tall, and was sealed within a large, black cloak.
