Maxwell chuckled, watching Maria as she bounced around, trying to soothe her burnt tongue. Andrew laughed awkwardly, playing with his cup.
"We met long before we started dating, but Andy was dating someone else when we first met." Maria, who had been in the middle of cooling down her tongue, paused. Her eyes widened as Andrew cleared his throat awkwardly.
"You were dating someone else?" She whispered, glancing between the two. He could already see where her mind was going, and he had to halt it immediately.
"Max moved in next door, and that's how we got to know each other. Friends, Maria. We started out as friends first." Andrew told her, aware that everyone was listening in. They weren't even trying to hide it. Maria nodded, her eyes wide.
"Oh, okay. Why did you move, Max?" It was something that Andrew had actually…never asked. Why had Maxwell moved?
