They arrived on Whidbey Island around four that afternoon and Jared noted that the last ferry left at nine. They had plenty of time to do what he wanted. The car headed around the island to the west side where many of the affluent lived. Twenty minutes later they pulled into the driveway of a modern glass and concrete beach front home.

Jared helped Cora out of the car, and she looked around in awe. The house was lit up and practically glowed. It was nestled among the towering fir trees with the ocean as a backdrop. Since they were still in the sound there were no large crashing waves, but the water was still a pleasant background.

"Where are we? Cora asked wondrously.

"This is my house sweetheart. I will explain more after I give you a tour. Okay?" Jared told her enjoying her reaction to the house.

"Okay." Cora answered agreeably.
