As Dr. Sue and the Ghost took their seats, the delegates introduced themselves for the first time.
"Well, now that everyone is here, I'll start us off with introductions. I am Archie, Grandpa of the Ghost of Ottawa, Head of the New Ottawa Agriculture Department." said the older gentleman looking to his right.
"Hello, I am Dr. Madie Sue, Head of the Armor and Experimental Assets Division at Libbey-Owens-Ford, otherwise, I'm known as the left hand of the Ghost when it comes to the governance of this place." Dr. Sue sat down, and looked to her right.
"Hey, I'm J.Hladovcak, former Desert-Storm Veteran and High School Auto Shop Teacher. Now, I am Head of both the New Ottawan Intelligence Agency and Veteran of Ottawa Agency stationed in the WCMY Radio Building and VFW. I'm also the right hand of the Ghost as well, not much more to say than that." Said H as he drank a sip of his water before passing the introduction to his right.
"Everyone here is well acquainted with who I am, but yes, I am the Ghost of Ottawa. I am the Leader of the New Ottawan Empire. To speed up introductions, on the other side of the table, we have the Overlord, Head of the Western Mississippi River Border States. He is overseeing the railroad system that feeds metals to the CIMCO, Peltier, and Libbey-Owens-Ford plants. On his right, we have the Preacher, Regional Head of the Eastern Mississippi River Border State. He is assisting my Grandpa, Archie, in food distribution to the other Midwestern and Plains states and within Ottawa."
With everyone introduced, the Ghost took charge of the First Key Counsel Meeting. "Getting down to brass tacks, Dr. Sue brought it to my attention, along with several others, the current power grid situation of Ottawa is in dire need of a remedy. Mr. H, what does the Intel Agency have to offer us?"
With a nod from H, an Intelligence Officer stepped up to the board. "Good Morning everyone, I am Intelligence Officer Daniel M. As of last month, the Intelligence Agency has been conducting surveillance on three key targets. Target One: The Starved Rock Lock and Dam. There is a group with the Army Corps of Engineers that has been cut off from the world still trying to operate it. We made contact with them and they seem open to the idea of being rescued and joining our ranks. Target Two: The Dayton Ridge Hydro-Electric Plant. The plant is unmanned and uninhabited, but several issues would come up while trying to run Ottawa off of her power. Lastly, Priority Target Three: The Lasalle Lake Nuclear Power Plant. The nuke plant is the best and most viable option for running Ottawa's power grid needs with minimal modifications necessary. However, Chicagoan Raiders have seized control of the plant. They have homemade mortars in place around the plant, but none of which pose a threat to the Strikers, O-61 Defender II, and not even to the Ottawan-Powered-Combat-Armor suit."
Officer Daniel concludes his report, flips on the dimmed lights, then takes his post by the door. The Counsel murmurs amongst themselves for a moment before the Ghost speaks up.
"H, what's the status of Dayton Ridge Skydive Chicago Airfield?"
"Currently, there are two working Twin Otter Aircraft. They hold twenty-three jumpers a piece, forty-six in total."
"Then here's my proposal. I will lead a ground assault on the nuke plant in the OPCA, in the meantime, H and a pilot of his choosing, fly the Twin Otters over the nuke plant for forty-six paratroopers, twenty-three from each of the newcomer factions to aid me. Once the plant is secured, we radio Dr. Sue and her team and they send the power to Ottawa. In the meantime, any of our fighters that aren't on this mission, should be assisting in the recovery of the two F-15s from the National Guard Base, as well as assisting in the rescue of the Army Corp of Engineers stuck at the Lock and Dam."
The Council adopted the plan in no time at all and not long after, the teams were underway, heading to Lasalle Lake.
