"Well," Lisa continued, "there was this great mix-up and special announcement the night before the final story of the project. It's not my fault, but I caught the mistake. It was late—everyone had left the office, and I was sitting there watching this report, realizing that if I didn't fix it, the whole project could go wrong."
Joanna's eyes widened slightly. "It must have been very stressful."
"It was," Lisa said, smiling at the memory. "But I stayed up all night preparing. I reworked the whole thing, and by the time the case rolled around the next day, everything was in order. Miguel said nothing at first, but I could tell he knew what I had done. After the talk was done, he came up to me and just said, "Good job." That was it. But the results of that? It felt like a big deal."
Joanna smiled, finding the weight of those two simple words. "That definitely surprised me."
